Jonathan Hill (presenter)
Jonathan Hill is a Welsh television presenter, journalist and producer, who currently presents ''Wales at Six'', the nightly news magazine programme on ITV Cymru Wales. He is also the editor of the station's English language output. Hill, who studied English at Swansea University before specialising in journalism, started his career freelancing for BBC Radio Wales, before joining HTV Wales as a general news reporter and bulletin presenter in 1993 for ''HTV Newsdesk'' and ''Wales at Six''. In February 1994, he was made one of the main presenters of ''Wales Tonight'', and has since been the senior anchor for the station's main regional news programmes, including ''HTV News'' and ''ITV Wales News''. He has also presented ITV News at 10 occasionally. ''Wales at Six'' is the evening news programme produced by ITV Cymru Wales and broadcasting to Wales. It broadcasts for thirty minutes each Monday to Friday from 18:00, covering national news stories, features, sport and weather. It is presented by Andrea Byrne or Jonathan Hill. Shorter bulletins air at other times (as ''ITV News Cymru Wales''). ITV Wales & West
ITV Wales and West, previously known as Harlech Television (HTV), was an ITV franchise area in the United Kingdom until 31 December 2013, licensed to a broadcaster by the regulator Ofcom. There is no channel, past or present, named "ITV Wales and West". The licence relates to a "dual region", meaning that the franchise area was divided into two sub-regions, Wales and the West of England, each of which had to be served by distinct and separate ITV programme services, as more fully defined within the licence. From January 2014, the dual-region licence was split in two, with ITV Cymru Wales for Wales and ITV West Country covering the both the West of England sub-region and South West England. BBC Radio Wales is a Welsh radio station owned and operated by BBC Cymru Wales, a division of the BBC. It began broadcasting on 13 November 1978, replacing the 'Radio 4 Wales' opt-out service (previously the Welsh Home Service). Radio Wales broadcasts in English, whilst sister network Radio Cymru has Welsh language programming. As of August 2022, the station's managing editor is Carolyn Hitt, who is also editor of BBC Wales Sport. Men & Motors
Men & Motors was a men's lifestyle television channel in the UK. It was the last remaining station operated by the former Granada Sky Broadcasting joint venture, set up by Granada Television (now part of ITV plc) and satellite broadcaster British Sky Broadcasting in 1996. Men & Motors closed on 1 April 2010 to make way for ITV1 HD on Freesat, Sky Digital and Virgin Media. ''Wales This Week'' is a long-running Welsh current affairs television programme produced by ITV Cymru Wales (formerly HTV Wales). The programme deals with a wide range of topics relating to the Welsh public, and is usually told through the eyes of those at the heart of the story. Up until 1982, HTV Wales' bilingual news department had produced a number of current affairs programmes in both languages including ''Yr Wythnos'', ''Welshscene'' and ''Outlook''. However it is often referred to on guides as ''ITV News'' (morning), ''ITV Lunchtime News'' (lunchtime), ''ITV Evening News'' (evening) and ''ITV News'' (late-night) in-line with the respective weekday bulletins. ITV (TV Network)
ITV is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. It was launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television (established in 1936). ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK. Since the passing of the Broadcasting Act 1990, it has been legally known as Channel 3 to distinguish it from the other analogue channels at the time, BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4. John William Cooper
John William Cooper (born 3 September 1944) is a Welsh serial killer. On 26 May 2011, he was given a whole life order for the 1985 double murder of siblings Richard and Helen Thomas, and the 1989 double murder of Peter and Gwenda Dixon. The murders were known in the media as the "Pembrokeshire Murders" or the "Coastal Murders". Cooper was also sentenced for the rape of a 16-year-old girl and a sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl, both carried out while a group of five teenagers were held at gunpoint in March 1996, in a wooded area behind the Mount Estate in Cooper's hometown of Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire. Cooper had a history of criminal activities, including thirty robberies and violent assaults.
