Jonathan Gallivan
Jonathan Gallivan (born in Toronto, Ontario) is a Québec-based producer, musician, and multi-media developer for Gallivan Media. He co-founded the band My Brilliant Beast with Byron Kent Wong and Julia Galios in 1993. For 1995, My Brilliant Beast's song ''Fall Away'', from their self-titled EP, was a Top 30 hit on Canadian radio. He joined Random Media Core Inc. in 1993, a Canadian company dedicated to music, design, marketing, and new media. At the company, Jonathan developed the original "welcome" page for the launching of the Sympatico ISP, as well as the original website for TV Guide in Canada. In 2005, Jonathan composed the songs ''Blunt Like Solid'' (recorded by Dubtractive) and ''I Want You To Love Me (But You Just Let Me Go)'' (recorded by Jonny Gee Rogers) for Clement Virgo's film '' Lie With Me''. ''Lie with Me'' is a 2005 Canadian erotic drama film directed by Clement Virgo, based on the 2001 novel of the same name by Tamara Faith Berger. The film stars Lauren Lee Smith and Eric Balfour. ''Glory Under Dangerous Skies'', originally titled ''Moist IV'', is a 2014 studio album released by the Canadian alternative rock band Moist on October 7, 2014 through Universal Music Canada. The album is Moist's first studio offering since their 1999 album '' Mercedes 5 and Dime'', and the first album to feature new members Jonathan Gallivan (on guitars and backing vocals), Louis Lalancette (on bass), and Francis Fillion (on drums). Original drummer Paul Wilcox had left the band just before its lengthy hiatus in 2000, and bassist Jeff Pearce left in early 2014 during the production of ''Glory Under Dangerous Skies''. ''The Mile End Sessions'' is the seventh album by solo artist David Usher. It was released on September 14, 2010 and is composed mostly of previously released songs re-recorded in acoustic arrangements. There were two singles released off the record. Overview The record was produced by Jonathan Gallivan, who also plays guitar on the album. The album also includes a French track that features Marie-Mai called "Je repars", which is Usher's first French-language recording. It was the first single from the album and charted in the top 10 in Québec. The other new songs on the album are "Fall To Pieces" and "Sparkle And Shine". Genie Award
The Genie Awards were given out annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to recognize the best of Canadian cinema from 1980–2012. They succeeded the Canadian Film Awards (1949–1978; also known as the "Etrog Awards," for sculptor Sorel Etrog, who designed the statuette). Genie Award candidates were selected from submissions made by the owners of Canadian films or their representatives, based on the criteria laid out in the ''Genie Rules and Regulations'' booklet which is distributed to Academy members and industry members. Peer-group juries, assembled from volunteer members of the Academy, meet to screen the submissions and select a group of nominees. Academy members then vote on these nominations. Clement Virgo (born June 1, 1966) is a Canadian film and television writer, producer and director who runs the production company, Conquering Lion Pictures, with producer Damon D'Oliveira. Virgo is best known for co-writing and directing an adaptation of the novel by Canadian writer Lawrence Hill, '' The Book of Negroes'' (2015), a six-part miniseries that aired on CBC Television in Canada and BET in the United States.
