Jonas Kjellgren
Jonas Kjellgren (born 4 July 1977) is a Swedish musician and producer, now residing in Grangärde, Sweden. He has been lead vocalist for Carnal Forge and Dellamorte, played guitar for Centinex, and played bass for October Tide. He is most famous for being the former co-founder and guitarist of Scar Symmetry, founded in 2005. As a producer, he has worked with bands such as Sonic Syndicate, Zonaria, Steel Attack, 21Lucifers, Darzamat and The Absence. He owns and operates Black Lounge Studios, which many Swedish metal bands use to record, mix and master their albums, although most of his own production efforts are done at The Abyss, which is owned by Peter Tägtgren. Kjellgren is known for playing seven-string guitars. Melodic Death Metal
Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals (differing from traditional death metal) alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal. Pioneered by the English heavy metal band Carcass with their 1993 album ''Heartwork'', melodic death metal developed further in Sweden (developed by bands like At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, and In Flames) in the mid-1990s. Steel Attack
Steel Attack is a Swedish power metal band from Sala ,formed in 1995. Biography Stefan Westerberg and Dennis Vestman formed Mayer's Eve in 1995. The band changed their name to Steel Attack in 1997 due to many coming and going members. The band started out with the style of European power metal bands, with lyrical content about epic battles, dragons and swords mixed with high-pitched vocals. Albums from that time is Where Mankind Fails (1999), Fall into Madness (2001) and the album Predator of the Empire (2003). However, with a change of vocalist in 2003 (Ronny Hemlin), the band and the 2004 album ''Enslaved'' got a new "direction," both musically and lyrically. Their old power metal sound was re-wrought to be more aggressive, and the standard lyrical content of most power metal bands (dragons, swords, etc.) was no longer used. Carnal Forge are a Swedish band, best classified as thrash metal with some melodic death metal influences. Their name originates from a song on Carcass's album ''Heartwork''. Biography Carnel Forge was founded in Sala, Sweden in 1997 by Jari Kuusisto and Stefan Westerberg as a side project to their band In Thy Dreams. They released their debut album ''Who's Gonna Burn (War Music)'' in 1998, then signed with Century Media Records in 2000 and recorded ''Firedemon'' (2000) and '' Please... Die!'' (2001). In 2000, guitarist Johan Magnusson left and bassist Petri Kuusisto took his place. Lars Lindén replaced Petri on bass and made his debut at the 2000 Decibel Festival in Bengtsfors, Sweden and at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Wacken, Germany. Riders Of The Plague
The Absence is an American melodic death metal band from Tampa, Florida. Their style has been described as aggressive thrash metal with Scandinavian metal influences. They were previously signed to Metal Blade Records and are now signed to M-Theory Audio. History The band released a self-titled EP in 2004 and followed up with their debut album, ''From Your Grave'', in 2005. The band's second album, ''Riders of the Plague'', was released in 2007. The album was praised in a review for finding an "interesting balance" between the genres death metal and thrash metal. In 2007, bassist Michael Leon joined the band. Peter Tägtgren
Alf Peter Tägtgren (born 3 June 1970) is a Swedish musician, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He is the founder, main songwriter, lead vocalist, and guitarist of death metal band Hypocrisy as well as the industrial metal band Pain in which he is the only member. He is also the owner of ''The Abyss'' recording studio and the co-founder of Lindemann, a music project between Tägtgren and Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann. Tägtgren left Lindemann in 2020.
