Jonah Malak
Jonah Malak, also known as Karim Haroun, is a Canadian documentary filmmaker, producer and editor from Montreal, Canada. He is most noted for his 2020 film ''Dave Not Coming Back'', for which he received a Best Editing in a Documentary nomination at the 9th Canadian Screen Awards, 2021. Early life and education Jonah Malak was born in Beirut, Lebanon, during the Lebanese Civil War. After completing his Bachelor in Mathematics at the American University of Beirut, he moved to Montreal, Canada where he completed a double Bachelor in Arts in Film Studies and in Film Production. Austin Film Festival (AFF), founded in 1994, is an organization in Austin, Texas, that focuses on writers’ creative contributions to film. Initially, AFF was called the Austin Heart of Film Screenwriters Conference and functioned to launch the careers of screenwriters, who historically have been underrepresented within the film industry. AFF is known for its annual October Austin Film Festival & Conference.
