Jon Plumer
Jon Plumer (born March 1, 1955) is an American Republican politician and retired salesman. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 42nd Assembly district since winning a June 2018 special election. Biography . Plumer won a special election, held on June 12, 2018, against Democrat Ann Groves Lloyd. He subsequently won a rematch with Groves Lloyd in the 2018 general election. The 42nd Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in central Wisconsin, the district comprises most of Columbia County, as well as northwest Dodge County, southern Green Lake County, and parts of southeast Marquette County and western Fond du Lac County. The district includes the cities of Fox Lake, Lodi, Markesan, Montello, and Ripon, as well as the villages of Brandon, Cambria, Fairwater, Friesland, Kingston, Marquette, Poynette, Randolph, Rio, and Wyocena. 2018 Wisconsin State Assembly Election
The Wisconsin State Assembly elections of 2018 were held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. All 99 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly were up for election. The Republican Party maintained a majority it has held since 2011, winning 63 seats, a loss of one seat, and 44.75% of the voting share. Despite winning a majority of ballots cast, the Democratic Party won only 36 seats, thus remaining a minority and gaining just one seat from the Republicans, district 14. Democratic votes were concentrated in urban areas such as Milwaukee and Madison, while Republicans garnered votes in more rural areas, which has been widely attributed to the impact of gerrymandering in the post-2010 state redistricting.2/ Based on the 2018 results, the tipping point district was District 29, which the Republicans won by a margin of 12.12%, therefore Democrats would have needed to win the statewide popular vote by a margin of 20.36% to win a majority of seats. The Wisconsin Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Wisconsin Elections Commission
The Wisconsin Elections Commission is a bipartisan regulatory agency of the State of Wisconsin established to administer and enforce election laws in the state. The Wisconsin Elections Commission was established by a 2015 act of the Wisconsin Legislature which also established the Wisconsin Ethics Commission to administer campaign finance, ethics, and lobbying laws. The two commissions began operation on June 30, 2016, replacing the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB), which was abolished. The Government Accountability Board had been established in 2008 to replace the Wisconsin Elections Board and Wisconsin Ethics Board. Keith Ripp
Keith Ripp (born November 13, 1961) is a Wisconsin politician. Ripp was born in Madison, Wisconsin and was raised in Lodi. He graduated from Lodi High School in 1980, and took farming courses from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Ripp continues to run the family farm in northern Dane County, Wisconsin. He is a former president of the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board and the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association. Ripp served as a supervisor for the Town of Dane from 2006 to 2009. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive.
