Jonathan McKennedy (born April 5, 1987) is an American race car driver from Chelmsford, MA. He has won 8 championships in Tour-Type Modifieds and Supermodifieds. McKennedy is scheduled to drive for Tim and Sheryl Lepine on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour in 2022. Career McKennedy began racing at age 9. Since starting his career, he has won multiple Karting championships. McKennedy has won 83 races at 25 tracks from Canada to Florida. Former NASCAR team owner Tommy Baldwin Jr. won his first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race with McKennedy, at Myrtle Beach Speedway in 2018. At the time, Baldwin called him "an awesome talent.” In 2009, McKennedy was ranked third by Vermont Motorsports Magazine. Chelmsford, Massachusetts
Chelmsford () is a town in Massachusetts that was established in 1655. It is located northwest of Boston. The Chelmsford militia played a role in the American Revolution at the Battle of Lexington and Concord and the Battle of Bunker Hill. Chelmsford was incorporated in May 1655 by an act of the Massachusetts General Court. When Chelmsford was incorporated, its local economy was fueled by lumber mills, limestone quarries and kilns. Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park
Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP), formerly Thompson Speedway and Thompson International Speedway, is a motorsports park in Thompson, Connecticut, featuring a asphalt oval racetrack and a road racing course. Once known as the "Indianapolis of the East", it was the first asphalt-paved racing oval track in the United States and is now under the American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Star Series banners after Thompson dropped their NASCAR sanction starting in 2020. The 2009 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was the 25th season of the Whelen Modified Tour (WMT). It began with the Icebreaker 150 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on April 5. It ended with the World Series of Speedway Racing at Thompson again on October 25. Ted Christopher entered the season as the defending Drivers' Champion. Mansfield Motor Speedway (formerly Mansfield Motorsports Park and Mansfield Motorsports Speedway) was a 0.44 mile dirt track located in Mansfield, Ohio, United States. Wall Stadium (also known briefly as Wall Township Speedway) is a 1/4-mile (0.25 miles inside measurement and 0.29 miles outside by the guardrail), high banked (30° in corners) paved oval track in Wall Township, New Jersey, United States. Martinsville Speedway
Martinsville Speedway is a NASCAR-owned stock car racing short track in Ridgeway, Virginia, just south of Martinsville. At in length, it is the shortest track in the NASCAR Cup Series. The track was also one of the first paved oval tracks in stock car racing, being built in 1947 by partners H. Clay Earles, Henry Lawrence, and Sam Rice, nearly a year before NASCAR was officially formed. It is also the only race track that has been on the NASCAR circuit from its beginning in 1948. Riverhead Raceway
Riverhead Raceway is a quarter-mile (402 m) oval race track with a Figure 8 course, located in Riverhead, New York. It is the only auto racing venue on Long Island since Westhampton Raceway closed down in 2003. It started being built in 1949 and opened as a dirt track in 1951, before permanently changing to asphalt in 1955.
