Jon Lane Kent
Jon Lane Kent is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. One of the several characters who has assumed the mantle of Superboy. He is the son of Superman and Lois Lane from an alternate future timeline in the continuity of the 2011 DC Comics initiative The New 52. Fictional character biography ''Superboy'' vol. 6 In an alternate New 52 future, Superman married Lois Lane and had a son, whom they named Jon Lane Kent. Jon's hybrid Kryptonian/human physiology proved to be unstable, causing him to fall ill and die shortly before his fourth birthday. In grief, Superman and Lois retreated to the Fortress of Solitude and were never heard from again. However, this death was not the end for Jon. A time traveler from the 30th century, the man who would later be known as Harvest, arrived and retrieved Jon's body, recognizing his condition to be a kind of torpor rather than true death. Jon Kent is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Dan Jurgens, the son of Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane, he first appeared in ''Convergence (comics), Convergence: Superman'' #2 (July 2015). Jon is the newest character in the DC Universe to assume the superhero persona of Superboy. As Superboy and Robin, Jon and Damian Wayne appeared in several Super-Sons, Super Sons comic book series featuring their shared adventures. Jon later takes on the superman mantle and stars in the comic series ''Superman: Son of Kal-El''. The character was revealed to be bisexual in 2021 by DC Comics. Jordan Elsass played the character in the CW television series ''Superman & Lois'' for the first two seasons, with Michael Bishop as Jon from season three. Torpor
Torpor is a state of decreased physiological activity in an animal, usually marked by a reduced body temperature and metabolic rate. Torpor enables animals to survive periods of reduced food availability. The term "torpor" can refer to the time a hibernator spends at low body temperature, lasting days to weeks, or it can refer to a period of low body temperature and metabolism lasting less than 24 hours, as in "daily torpor". Animals that undergo daily torpor include birds (even tiny hummingbirds, notably Cypselomorphae) and some mammals, including many marsupial species, rodent species (such as mice), and bats. During the active part of their day, such animals maintain normal body temperature and activity levels, but their metabolic rate and body temperature drop during a portion of the day (usually night) to conserve energy. Guardian (DC Comics)
Guardian (James Jacob "Jim" Harper) is a DC Comics superhero introduced in April 1942 by writer/artist Joe Simon and artist Jack Kirby. Guardian resembles the earlier Kirby and Simon character Captain America (first published 13 months earlier by Marvel Comics), as he had no super powers and carried an indestructible shield. When Kirby returned to DC in 1970, he eventually re-established the character as a supporting one in the '' Superman'' franchise: as a clone who was head of security for Project Cadmus. In the Arrowverse series ''Supergirl'', James Olsen, portrayed by Mehcad Brooks, became the superhero Guardian.
