Johnny Wheeler
John Edward Wheeler (26 July 1928 – 15 November 2019) was an English professional footballer. He played for Tranmere Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Liverpool and New Brighton. Club career Wheeler played club football for Carlton, Tranmere Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Liverpool and New Brighton. Wheeler played for Bolton Wanderers in the 1953 FA Cup Final at Wembley on 2 May 1953 in which Bolton lost 4–3 to Blackpool. International career He gained his only England cap in 1954 when Walter Winterbottom selected him to play in a British Home Championship match against Northern Ireland at Windsor Park, Belfast. Goals from Johnny Haynes and Don Revie gained England a 2–0 win. Crosby, Merseyside
Crosby is a coastal town in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, England. Historically in Lancashire, it is north of Bootle, south of Southport and Formby, and west of Netherton. It abuts the areas of Blundellsands to the north and Waterloo to the south. It is approximately 7.2 miles (9.6 km) north of Liverpool City Centre. History The town has Viking roots in common with the other ''-by'' suffixed settlements of Formby to the north and Kirkby to the east. Windsor Park is a football stadium in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Don Revie
Donald George Revie OBE (10 July 1927 – 26 May 1989) was an England international footballer and manager, best known for his successful spell with Leeds United from 1961 until 1974, which immediately preceded his appointment as England manager. A forward, he began his career with Leicester City in August 1944, before a £19,000 move to Hull City in November 1949. He was sold on to Manchester City in October 1951 for a fee of £25,000, where he became the main focus of the "Revie Plan" which saw him named as FWA Footballer of the Year in 1954–55 after innovating the role of the first deep-lying centre forward in England. He won the FA Cup in 1956, having finished on the losing side in the 1955 final. He was bought by Sunderland for £22,000 in October 1956, before moving on to Leeds United in November 1958 for a £14,000 fee.
