Johnny Tsunami
''Johnny Tsunami'' is a 1999 Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM). The film focuses on a young surfer from Hawaii who must adapt to new challenges when his father's job forces the family to move to Vermont. It was nominated in 2000 for the Humanitas Prize in the Children's Live-Action Category. The film was followed by a sequel, '' Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board'', released in 2007. Plot Johnny Kapahala, a boy living in Hawaii, is a surfer who has good friends and a happy family, including parents Pete and Melanie, and his paternal grandfather, the famous surf legend Johnny Bartholomew Tsunami. When Pete gets a sudden job transfer, the family is forced to move to Vermont, while Tsunami stays in Hawaii. Simon Says was an American rock band from Sacramento, California. In 2001, they changed their name to Key to Arson, and they broke up in 2004. Jeffries Fan Club was a southern California Third-wave ska band formed in 1996. The band released several albums on now-defunct Vegas Records before breaking up in 2001. The band played their final show January 6, 2001, at The Glasshouse in Pomona, CA, Pomona, which was later released on CD under the title ''Last Show at the Glasshouse''. Their breakup was the cover story in the ''OC Weekly'' issue dated January 5, 2001. In the ''OC Weekly'' article, it was revealed that the primary reason for the band's breakup was lead singer/guitarist Mike Dziurgot's desire to return to school. In the article, he also mentioned that he and several of the members didn't enjoy performing unless they were under the influence of alcohol, and that this affliction had prompted him to return to his Christianity, Christian roots. Fastball is an American rock band that formed in Austin, Texas in 1995. The band originally called themselves Magneto U.S.A. but changed their name after signing with Hollywood Records. In 1998, their album ''All the Pain Money Can Buy'' reached platinum sales within six months of its release, and stayed on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart for a year. Their songs " The Way" and " Out of My Head" reached #1 and #14 on ''Billboards Adult Alternative Songs chart. In addition, the group has been nominated for two Grammy Awards – Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "The Way", and Best Long Form Music Video for their promotional video "The Way". "The Way" is a song by American alternative rock band Fastball. It was released on January 7, 1998, as the lead single from their second studio album, ''All the Pain Money Can Buy'' (1998). The song was written by the band's lead vocalist, Tony Scalzo, and was produced by the band and Julian Raymond. Scalzo was inspired to write the song after reading about the disappearance of an elderly couple who were found dead in their car many miles away from their original destination. "The Way" peaked at number one on the US ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart in April 1998 and remained there for seven weeks. It also reached number one in Canada on the week of June 15, 1998, and topped the ''RPM'' Alternative 30 chart for four weeks.
