Johnny Scott (Canadian Football)
Johnny Scott (born July 15, 1969 in Austin, Texas) is a former all-star defensive lineman in the Canadian Football League. Biography Unusually for modern football players, Scott did not go to college, but went pro directly from Johnston High School. He signed as a free agent with the Shreveport Pirates (part of the CFL's failed expansion to the United States) and played two years (1994 and 1995) recording three sacks. He played the next four years with the B.C. Lions (67 games), twice being named an all star with 35 total sacks. He moved on to the Toronto Argonauts in 2000, playing three years there and getting 11 sacks in 30 games and being named an all star twice. He played 2003 and 2004 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (28 games and 5 sacks) and played two games with the Ottawa Renegades The Ottawa Renegades were a Canadian Football League franchise based in Ottawa, Ontario founded in 2002, six years after the storied Ottawa Rough Riders folded. John "Johnny" Kerningham Sidney Scott (ca. 1938; Buffalo, New York – April 20, 2010) was an American jazz vocalist and tenor saxophonist. Early life Scott was born in Buffalo, New York, and began his musical studies at the age of 15. Career After enlisting in the United States Army, he joined a band which entertained American troops in Europe. Subsequent to his discharge from the Army in the early-1960s, Scott moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where he performed in a wide spectrum of settings for over 47 years. Scott explored a variety of other genres over the course of his career, including pop music, R&B, and blues. John Scott (born Patrick John O'Hara Scott, 1 November 1930), also known as Johnny Scott and Patrick John Scott, is an English film composer and music conductor. Scott has collaborated with well-known directors and producers, including Mark Damon, Richard Donner, Charlton Heston, Mike Hodges, Hugh Hudson, Norman Jewison, Irvin Kershner, Ilaiyaraaja, Daniel Petrie, Roger Spottiswoode, and Norman J. Warren. Life and career Scott was born in Bishopston, Bristol, England. His father, a musician in the Bristol Police Band, gave him his first music lessons. At the age of 14, he enrolled in the British Army (in the Royal Artillery Band, Woolwich) as a Boy Musician in order to continue his musical studies of the clarinet, harp and saxophone. Sir George Ivan Morrison (born 31 August 1945), known professionally as Van Morrison, is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose recording career spans seven decades. He has won two Grammy Awards. As a teenager in the late 1950s, he played a variety of instruments such as guitar, harmonica, keyboards and saxophone for several Irish showbands, covering the popular hits of that time. Known as "Van the Man" to his fans, Morrison rose to prominence in the mid 1960s as the lead singer of the Northern Irish R&B and rock band Them. With Them, he recorded the garage band classic " Gloria". Under the pop-oriented guidance of Bert Berns, Morrison's solo career began in 1967 with the release of the hit single "Brown Eyed Girl".
