John Vic De Guzman
John Vic Ortiz De Guzman (born September 23, 1993) is a Filipino athlete, volleyball player, actor, and singer. Early life and education De Guzman lived in Laguna in his early years and became involved in various extracurricular activities. In his first year of high school, he was part of a band. In the next year, he became a dancer and, in his third year of high school studies, he started to play badminton. He attended the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde under a scholarship program. He graduated with a degree in Human Resource Management. Volleyball career De Guzman only took up volleyball at age 18 after his high school studies. His involvement with the sport enabled him to study at no cost at the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (CSB) as an athletic scholar. Erik Matti (born December 21, 1970) is a Filipino filmmaker. He is known for directing '' On the Job'' (2013), ''Honor Thy Father'' (2015), '' Seklusyon'' (2016), '' BuyBust'' (2018), and '' On the Job: The Missing 8'' (2021). Matti co-founded the production company Reality Entertainment with Dondon Monteverde, son of film producer Lily Monteverde. Matti and Monteverde also co-founded the streaming service Upstream. In Philippine mythology, the kapre is a creature that may be described as a tree giant, being a tall (), dark-coloured, hairy, and muscular creature. Kapres are also said to have a very strong body odour and to sit in tree branches to smoke. Origins The term ''kapre'' comes from the Arabic ''kafir'' (Spanish ''cafre''), meaning a non-believer in Arabic (usually referring to atheists/idolists). Catalino Ortiz Brocka (April 3, 1939 – May 22, 1991) was a Filipino film director. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential and significant filmmakers in the history of Philippine cinema.
