John Silvanus Wilson
John Silvanus Wilson, Jr. is an American academic administrator who served as the 11th president of Morehouse College from 2013 to 2017. Before returning to lead his alma mater in 2013, Wilson served in the United States Department of Education, at George Washington University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Early life and education John Silvanus Wilson, Jr. was born and raised in Philadelphia. His father was a clergyman who graduated from Virginia Union University. His mother, a teacher, graduated from Morgan State University. Wilson attended Morehouse College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979, majoring in business with a minor in religion and philosophy. Robert Michael Franklin, Jr
Robert Michael Franklin Jr. (born February 22, 1954) is an American author, theologian, ordained minister, and academic administrator who served as the tenth president of Morehouse College from 2007 to 2012. Franklin is a visiting scholar in residence at Stanford University's Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute. In January 2014, he became director of the religion program at the Chautauqua Institution. Early life and education A native of Chicago, Franklin graduated from Morgan Park High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College, Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago Divinity School. Benjamin Elijah Mays (August 1, 1894 – March 28, 1984) was an American Baptist minister and American rights leader who is credited with laying the intellectual foundations of the American Civil rights movement (1896–1954), civil rights movement.
