John Siceloff
John Siceloff (October 21, 1953 – March 6, 2015) was an American television producer. He was born in Frogmore, South Carolina. He created and was executive producer of the Public Broadcasting Service, PBS news magazine, ''NOW on PBS''. Career A graduate of Swarthmore College with a bachelor's degree in history he continued his education at Stanford University, earning a master's degree in Communication studies, communications. Siceloff has been a producer for ABC's ''20/20 (US television series), 20/20'' and ''Primetime Live'' and a senior broadcast producer for ''ABC News (United States), ABC News'' as well as NBC's ''NOW'', ''Dateline NBC'' and ''Prime Story''. During 2001 he joined Public Broadcasting Service, PBS and in 2004 he became founder and CEO of JumpStart Productions, which produced ''NOW on PBS''. A television producer is a person who oversees one or more aspects of video production on a television show, television program. Some producers take more of an executive role, in that they conceive new programs and pitch them to the television networks, but upon acceptance they focus on business matters, such as budgets and contracts. Other producers are more involved with the day-to-day workings, participating in activities such as screenwriting, Scenic design, set design, Casting (performing arts), casting, and directing. The September 11 attacks, commonly known as 9/11, were four coordinated suicide terrorist attacks carried out by al-Qaeda against the United States on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. The Imagen Awards are administered by the Imagen Foundation, an organization dedicated to "encouraging and recognizing the positive portrayals of Latinos in the entertainment industry."
