John Shepherd (actor)
John William Shepherd (born November 18, 1960) is an American actor and producer who has starred in film and on television since the 1980s. Career He is best known for his role in the 1985 horror film '' Friday the 13th: A New Beginning'' as Tommy Jarvis and speaks in the commentary of the deluxe edition DVD of the film in 2009. He also appeared in one episode of ''Friday the 13th'' TV series. Other movies he starred in were the 1992 movie ''Deep Cover'' and in the 1996 comedy film ''Down Periscope'' with Kelsey Grammer. His most recent role was in the 2000 movie '' Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius''. Shepherd has made guest appearances on TV shows such as ''Quantum Leap'', ''Tour of Duty'', '' Friday the 13th: The Series'', and ''T.J. Hooker''. Glen Ellyn is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. A suburb located due west of downtown Chicago, the village has a population of 28,846 as of the 2020 Census. History Glen Ellyn, like the neighboring town to the east, Lombard, had its genesis in an 1833 claim by two brothers from the Finger Lakes region of New York, Morgan and Ralph Babcock. The two claimed property in a large stand of timber near present-day St. Charles Road and the East Branch of the DuPage River. The brothers also arranged for a claim for their New York neighbor Deacon Winslow Churchill, who arrived in 1834 along with some of his adult children and their families. The nascent settlement became known as Babcock's Grove, and it included property currently part of both Glen Ellyn and Lombard. ''Banzai Runner'' is a 1987 American action film starring Dean Stockwell, John Shepherd, Charles Dierkop, Rick Fitts, Dawn Schneider, Billy Drago and directed by John G. Thomas. Plot A group of wealthy motorists drive exotic cars at extreme speeds late at night on the public highways. These drivers are referred to as the Banzai Runners. The film is based on ''My Husband, Rock Hudson'', a 1987 autobiography by Phyllis Gates, actor Rock Hudson's wife (1955–1958). ''High Mountain Rangers'' was an American adventure drama series about a group of highly trained wilderness search and rescue/law enforcement officers in Tahoe, Nevada.
