John Glyn Rowlands (7 February 1947 – 13 April 2020) was an English professional footballer who played as a defender and a forward. Active in England, South Africa and the United States, Rowlands made nearly 400 appearances in a 13-year career. Career Born in Liverpool, Rowlands began his career in non-league football with Marine and Skelmersdale United, before signing for Mansfield Town as an amateur in October 1967. He went on to play professionally in England, South Africa and the United States for Mansfield Town, Torquay United, Exeter City, Cape Town City, Stockport County, Barrow, Workington, Crewe Alexandra, the Seattle Sounders, Hartlepool United, the San Jose Earthquakes, the Oakland Stompers and the Tulsa Roughnecks. Air Marshal Sir John Rowlands, (23 September 1915 – 4 June 2006) was a senior Royal Air Force commander and a recipient of the George Cross for his work in bomb disposal during the Second World War. He later worked in the development of Britain's nuclear weapons programme. RAF career Rowlands was born in Hawarden, Flintshire and was educated at the local Hawarden Grammar School. He took a degree in physics at the University of Wales, where he captained the university football side and was in the tennis team. At the outbreak of the Second World War, Rowlands joined the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. After undertaking pilot training at RAF Ternhill and gaining his pilots wings, he trained in armament engineering at RAF Manby in Lincolnshire. He was promoted to the rank of flying officer in the Technical Branch on 7 October 1940, and to temporary flight lieutenant on 1 December 1941. Daniel John Rowlands (known as John; 1925 – 13 September 2004) was an eminent Anglican priest in the 20th century. Rowlands was born in 1925 and educated at Bromsgrove School and Pembroke College, Cambridge. He was ordained in 1952. He was a Curate at Mary, Woodford and then with the Mission to Seaman until 1975 when he left to become vicar at St Mary's church, Woodbridge, Suffolk. John Rowlands (pen name, "Giraldus"; 1824 – 4 July 1891) was a Welsh antiquary and educator, a literary man who wrote several interesting things in English and Welsh, and was an occasional contributor to the daily and weekly journals of the day. Biography He was born at Nanteos Arms, Llanbadarn Fawr, Ceredigion. He was one of the first students who entered Carmarthen College, and one of the first who went out as pioneers of education in South Wales, when schoolmasters' salaries ranged from thirty pounds to forty pounds a year. During his early years, he served as chief librarian to Sir Thomas Phillipps, Middle Hall, Cheltenham. Rowlands was a schoolmaster by profession, and in that capacity, he spent 10 years at Rumney; 16 years at Dinas Powys; and he spent some years also at Risca and Bedwas in a similar capacity. ''Mayhem in Monsterland'' is a 1993 platform game for the Commodore 64. Its titular hero, "Mayhem", is a yellow triceratops blessed with the gift of speed. His goal is to return his world from sad to happy, ridding the world of monsters along the way. Plot An apprentice magician dinosaur living in Monsterland, Theo Saurus, made a mistake while practising a spell one day. He turned the lands Jellyland, Pipeland, Spottyland, Cherryland, and Rockland into sad places, void of color or life. Theo began living in a hidden cave to avoid the wrath of the other monsters until discovered one day by the hero of the story, Mayhem.
