John Resig
John Resig is an American software engineer and entrepreneur, best known as the creator and lead developer of the jQuery JavaScript library. , he works as the chief software architect at Khan Academy. History Resig graduated with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2005. During this time he worked with Ankur Teredesai on data mining instant messaging networks and Jon Schull on exploring new ways of encouraging real-time online collaboration. , Resig has worked as an application developer at Khan Academy. Rhino (JavaScript Engine)
Rhino is a JavaScript engine written fully in Java and managed by the Mozilla Foundation as open source software. It is separate from the SpiderMonkey engine, which is also developed by Mozilla, but written in C++ and used in Mozilla Firefox. History The Rhino project was started at Netscape in 1997. At the time, Netscape was planning to produce a version of Netscape Navigator written fully in Java and so it needed an implementation of JavaScript written in Java. Manning Publications is an American publisher specializing in content relating to computers. Manning mainly publishes textbooks but also release videos and projects for professionals within the computing world. Company Manning was founded in 1990 as a book packaging business by business partners Marjan Bace and Lee Fitzpatrick. Manning did business with most of the established technical publishers as well as with the IEEE Computer Society Press. Their scope included all of engineering and computing. MIX (Microsoft)
MIX was a Microsoft conference held annually for Web developers and designers at which Microsoft showcased upcoming web technologies. The conference was held each spring at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. Unlike many of Microsoft's technical conference, MIX has been promoted more heavily to designers by inviting popular speakers from other popular web design conferences, such as SXSW, and has sponsored a CSS design contest each year to promote the conference. Microsoft has also used this conference as an opportunity to promote new web design and development tools such as Silverlight and Microsoft Expression Studio. South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States.
