John Reade
John Reade (November 13, 1837 – March 26, 1919) was an Irish-born Canadian journalist, essayist, and poet once considered "the grand old man of Canadian letters." Life John Reade was born in Ballyshannon, Donegal, Ireland, in 1837, the son of Frances Smyth and Joseph Reade. He was educated at Portora School, Enniskillen, and Queen's College, Belfast. Reade immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1856, settling in Montreal, Quebec. Within a year he had founded and was editing ''Montreal Literary Magazine.'' In 1859, after beginning studying law, he became rector of Lachute Academy, and began studying theology. John Reade (politician)
John Rede or Reade (by 1509 – 27 September 1557) was an English politician and member of the court staff. An early tutor of Arthur, Prince of Wales, son of Henry VII of England was named John Rede. He was born before 1509. He was keeper of the wardrobe at York Place in 1530 and at Westminster from 1533 until his death in 1557. He was elected to Parliament as Member of Parliament for Westminster in 1547. He married twice: firstly Joan, widow of John Trower of Westminster, and secondly Alice Bentley, widow of Richard Mody of London. He was buried at St Martins-in-the-Fields St Martin-in-the-Fields is a Church of England parish church at the north-east corner of Trafalgar Square in the City of Westminster, London. John Edmund Reade
John Edmund Reade (1800–1870) was an English poet and novelist. Life Reade was born in 1800 at Broadwell, near Stow-on-the-Wold in Gloucestershire, the son of Thomas Reade of Barton Manor, Berkshire, and his wife Catherine, daughter of Sir John Hill. His grandfather, Sir John Reade, was fourth baronet, being the great-grandson of Compton Reade of Shipton Court, Oxfordshire. Reade was educated at a school at Doulting, near Shepton Mallet. His first work, a collection of poems entitled ''The Broken Heart'', was published in 1825. He was to devote the rest of his life to literature, although he was severely criticised for lack of originality: Edward Irving Carlyle, in the first edition of the ''Dictionary of National Biography'', says he "developed a remarkable capacity for plagiarism", adding that "Byron served for his chief model, but his poems and plays are full of sentiments and phrases taken undisguisedly from the best-known writings of Scott, Wordsworth, Ben Jonson, ...

Sir John Reade, 1st Baronet
Sir John Reade, 1st Baronet (c. 1616–1694) has the unusual distinction of being granted a baronetcy by both Charles I and the Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell. Biography Reade was of an ancient family, originally of Morpeth, in Northumberland. He was born about 1616 the was the fourth son of John Reade (and grandson of Sir Thomas Reade, of Barton, in Berkshire), and of Mary daughter and co-heir of Sir John Brocket, of Brocket Hall. He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn on 7 June 1632. John Reade of Brocket Hall, Hertfordshire, was knighted at Newmarket on 12 March 1642, and four days later created a baronet by Charles I on 16 March 1642. During the Interregnum Reade held two offices under the Commonwealth. He was appointed Commissioner for Hertfordshire in November 1650 and was Sheriff of Hertfordshire in the year 1655/1656. Reade Baronets
There have been two baronetcies created for members of the Reade (or Read) family, both in the Baronetage of England. Both creations are now extinct. The Reade Baronetcy, of Brocket Hall in the County of Hertford, was created in the Baronetage of England on 16 March 1642 for John Reade. The title became extinct on the death of the third Baronet in 1712. The Reade Baronetcy, of Barton in the County of Berkshire (now Oxfordshire), was created in the Baronetage of England on 4 March 1661 for Compton Reade. He was the nephew of the first Baronet of the 1642 creation. The fourth Baronet sat as Member of Parliament for Cricklade. Lieutenant-General George Reade, fourth son of the second Baronet, was Member of Parliament for Tewkesbury. The title became extinct on the death of the thirteenth baronet in 2012.
