John R. Phythyon, Jr.
John R. Phythyon Jr. is a game designer who has worked primarily on role-playing games. Career Phythyon ran a small-press role-playing game publishing company, Event Horizon Productions. Phythyon was hired as a partner in Guardians of Order in 2000 and was made their Sales & Marketing Director, with Guardians also acquiring Event Horizon Productions and its games including '' Heaven and Earth'' by Phythyon. Guardians Of Order
Guardians of Order was a Canadian company founded in 1996 by Mark C. MacKinnon in Guelph, Ontario. The company's business output consisted of role-playing games (RPGs). Their first game is the anime inspired ''Big Eyes, Small Mouth''. In 2006 Guardians of Order ceased operations due to overwhelming debt. Publication history The ''Big Eyes, Small Mouth'' game used the Tri-Stat System. The system would later be modified for use in other games and be more generally named the ''Tri-Stat dX'' system. Most of Guardians of Order's games use some form of the ''Tri-Stat dX'' system. After ''Big Eyes, Small Mouth'', Guardians of Order would go on to achieve significant success with '' The Sailor Moon Role-Playing Game and Resource Book''. Heaven & Earth (role-playing Game)
''Heaven & Earth'' is a role-playing game first published by Event Horizon Productions in 1998, and a second edition published by Guardians of Order in 2001. A third edition was published by Abstract Nova in 2004. Description Each edition of ''Heaven & Earth'' featured used different mechanics in approximately the same small-town contemporary supernatural setting. The second edition used the Tri-Stat System. Publication history Lucien Soulban, the original author of ''Heaven & Earth'' was hired by Guardians of Order in 2000, and produced the new edition of his game in (2001).
