John Quinlan (bishop)
Bishop John Quinlan (October 19, 1826, Cloyne, County Cork, Ireland – March 9, 1883, Alabama) was a Catholic bishop and the second Bishop of Mobile. Biography Early life John Quinlan was born on 19 October 1826 in Cloyne, Ireland, and immigrated to the United States when he was 18, in 1844. He was accepted as a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati by John Baptist Purcell, and sent to Mount St. Mary's University for studies. On August 30, 1852, he was ordained a priest by bishop Purcell. Priesthood Quinlan's first assignment as a priest was in Piqua, Ohio, before serving as curate for future Archbishop of Philadelphia James Wood at St. Patrick's Church in Cincinnati. Following this, he served as rector of Mount Saint Marys of the West before being appointed the second bishop of the Diocese of Mobile on August 19, 1859, and consecrated a bishop by Antoine Blanc on December 4 of that same year. John Joseph Quinlan (born October 30, 1974) nickname Stoneface, is an American actor. He is a former bodybuilder, professional wrestler, fitness model, fashion model, art model and romance cover model. In 2012 he was an official image model and brand ambassador for the supplement company Nutrabolics. In December 2015, Quinlan was signed on as the lead male actor for the 2019 film, ''A Sense of Purpose: Fighting For Our Lives'' by producer Jillian Bullock. Jack Quinlan
John Charles Quinlan (January 23, 1927 – March 19, 1965) was an American sportscaster. He was best known for doing radio play-by-play for the Chicago Cubs, first on WIND (1955-56) and then on WGN- (1957–64). His broadcast partners were Lou Boudreau (1957–April 1960, 1961–64) and Charlie Grimm April–October 1960). Quinlan was killed in an auto accident after leaving a golf outing during spring training of 1965. He was an avid golfer, and a charity golf tournament in his name has been held in the Chicago area ever since. Quinlan's classic call of the final out of Don Cardwell's no-hitter on May 15, 1960, transcribed from a phonograph record of Cubs history issued in 1971, is quoted below.
