John Punter
John Punter (born 27 January 1949) is a former English record producer and recording engineer. He has worked with many bands and musicians, such as Japan, Procol Harum, Roxy Music, Doctors of Madness, Sad Café and Slade. His career in music spanned over 30 years and many different genres. He is now retired from the entertainment business, and ran a small bar in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. On July 24, 2019, he became a citizen of Canada. Nazareth (band)
Nazareth are a Scottish hard rock band formed in Dunfermline in 1968 that had several hits in Canada, the United Kingdom, and a number of other European countries in the early 1970s. The breadth of their popularity expanded internationally, including in the USA, with their 1975 album '' Hair of the Dog'', which featured their hits " Hair of the Dog" and a cover of the ballad " Love Hurts". They have continued to record and tour for more than fifty years. Career Nazareth formed in December 1968 in Dunfermline, Scotland, from the remaining members of semi-professional local group The Shadettes (formed in 1961) by vocalist Dan McCafferty, guitarist Manny Charlton, bassist Pete Agnew, and drummer Darrell Sweet. ''Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply'' is a studio album by the British rock group Slade, released in America and Canada in April 1984. It is a repackaged version of '' The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome'' which was released in the UK, Europe and across the rest of the world in December 1983. ''Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply'' reached No. 33 in the US and No. 26 in Canada, giving the band their long-awaited breakthrough in the US. The album proved to be the most successful North American release of Slade's career. Both " Run Runaway" and " My Oh My" enjoyed Top 40 success as singles there. In August 1984, the album was certified Gold in Canada for 50,000 sales. ''The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome'' is the eleventh studio album by the British rock group Slade. It was released on 3 December 1983 and reached No. 49 in the UK charts. The album was produced largely by bassist Jim Lea. The two UK Top 10 singles released from the album, " My Oh My" and " Run Runaway", were produced by John Punter. In 1984, the album was re-packaged and released as ''Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply'' by CBS Associated records in the United States and Canada. ''A Step Further'' is the fourth album by the band Savoy Brown. It was released by Decca in the U.K. and by Parrot in the U.S. in September 1969. This is the last album recorded with long time pianist Bob Hall. The album track "Made Up My Mind" had first appeared as the B-side of the US single release on Parrot Records 45-40039 (released June 1969), fronted by "Train to Nowhere", from their album '' Blue Matter''. The track "Waiting in the Bamboo Grove" would later be released as the B-side of the UK single release on Decca F 13019 (released May 1970), of "A Hard Way To Go" from their album '' Raw Sienna''. Savoy Brown
Savoy Brown (originally Savoy Brown Blues Band) were an English blues rock band formed in Battersea, south west London, in 1965. Part of the late 1960s blues rock movement, Savoy Brown primarily achieved success in the United States, where they promoted their albums with non-stop touring. Founder, guitarist and primary songwriter Kim Simmonds was the sole constant member of the band from its formation in 1965 until his death in 2022. Career The band was formed by guitarist Kim Simmonds and harmonica player John O'Leary, following a chance meeting at Transat Imports record shop in Lisle Street, Soho, in 1965. In naming themselves, the group put together two words that conveyed an interesting balance of opposite sentiments and approaches. Pseudo Echo are an Australian new wave band that formed in 1982 by founding mainstay Brian Canham on vocals, guitar and keyboards. Other original members were Pierre Gigliotti (as Pierre Pierre) on bass keyboards and bass guitar, and Tony Lugton on keyboards. Later members included Anthony Argiro on drums, James Leigh on keyboards and his brother, Vince Leigh on drums. ''Welcome to the Cruise'' is the debut album by British singer-songwriter Judie Tzuke, released in 1979. The album peaked at No. 14 on the UK Albums Chart and was certified gold in 1981 by the British Phonographic Industry for sales in excess of 100,000 copies. Judie Tzuke
Judie Tzuke ( ; born Judie Myers, 3 April 1956) is an English singer-songwriter. She is best known for her 1979 hit " Stay with Me till Dawn", which reached number 16 on the UK Singles Chart. Life and career Early life Tzuke's family relocated from Poland to England in the 1920s, and changed their surname from Tzuke to Myers, like other Jewish families from Eastern Europe. Her mother, Jean Silverside, was a television actress, and her father, Sefton Myers, was a successful property developer who also managed artists and singers—most notably Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice during the writing of ''Jesus Christ Superstar''. Tzuke preferred the original family name, started using it at school and so, when Tzuke embarked on her singing career, she used it as her stage name.
