John Plymale
John Plymale is a record producer, recording engineer, and musician from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA. Plymale was a founding member of the band The Pressure Boys in 1981 as well as The Sex Police in 1989. He was bassist for the band Bustello, a band led by Ben Clarke (formerly of Metal Flake Mother) and drummer for the band Kickball, a trio formed with John Gillespie and Mike Garrigan. Plymale has also performed with the "supergroup" Preesh!, along with Robert Sledge ( Ben Folds Five) and Brian Dennis ( DAG). From 1995 to 2020 he worked full-time as a recording engineer and record producer based out of Durham, North Carolina's Overdub Lane Recording Studio. Chapel Hill is a town in Orange, Durham and Chatham counties in the U.S. state of North Carolina. Valient Thorr
Valient Thorr is an American southern rock/ heavy metal band from Greenville, North Carolina. The name of the band is based on the urban legend of Valiant Thor, an Alien which came from Venus to Earth, Valiant Thor. Valient explained, "That'll be the background for the band! We're from space ..." History Valient Thorr began playing together in 2000. Their first show was on Easter of 2001. They released two demos, "Raw" and "We Come From The Morning Star". The Fever (band)
The Fever was an American indie rock band from New York City. History The Fever formed in 2001 around songwriting partners Geremy Jasper (vocals) and Chris Sanchez (guitar). After expanding to a five-piece, the group signed with Kemado Records, releasing their debut EP, ''Pink on Pink'', in 2002. The full-length, ''Red Bedroom'' followed in 2003, as did touring with bands such as Hot Hot Heat, Death From Above 1979, Moving Units, VHS or Beta, Metric, and the Kills. Hobex
Hobex is an American funk group from North Carolina. History Hobex was formed by singer/guitarist Greg Humphreys after the demise of his prior ensemble, Dillon Fence, alongside drummer Steve Hill (originally from Johnny Quest) and bassist Andy Ware. Their first release was 1996's ''Payback'' EP, which was a regional hit in the southeastern United States. Hobexat Allmusic Their debut full-length, ''Back in the 90s'', came out in 1998 but was re-released on Slash/ London Records in 1999 as the band gained press. 2000's ''Wisteria'' and 2002's ''U Ready Man?'' Jason Harrod is an American guitarist and singer who writes and performs bluegrass/folk music. Harrod's first album, ''Dreams of the Colorblind'', was released in 1992. Harrod's first album was coreleased with songwriter Brian Funck, with whom he played until 1998. Shandon Sahm
Shandon Sahm (born May 7, 1969) is an American drummer, who is a native of San Antonio, Texas and is best known for his two stints as the drummer of the Meat Puppets, from 1999–2002 and 2009–2018. Biography Sahm is the son of Doug Sahm (who was the leader of such rock bands as the Sir Douglas Quintet and the Texas Tornados, among others). Sahm began playing drums at a young age after being inspired by his father's music and by KISS, with his first appearance on record being ''Where the Pyramid Meets the Eye: A Tribute To Roky Erickson'', in 1990. Caitlin Cary (born October 28, 1968) is an alternative country musician and visual artist from Seville, Ohio. Early life Caitlin Cary is the youngest of seven siblings (all older brothers). Her entire family was involved in music to some degree, with her parents' love for singing and her father's interest in building instruments. She had begun to play the violin at age five, but put it aside as a teenager. In addition to the violin, she also played her father's harpsichords, where she wrote some of her own songs. Danielle Howle (born in Columbia, South Carolina) is an American singer-songwriter and music producer. Biography After releasing an early song on a Columbia, South Carolina music sampler in the late 1980s, Howle joined the Columbia-based band Lay Quiet Awhile, formed by brothers Dan and Phil Cook in 1989. Howle was the voice on their first full-length album, ''Delicate Wire'', released in 1993. King Wilkie is an American music group formed in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2002 by Reid Burgess and Ted Pitney. Roman Candle is an indie rock band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, composed of Skip Matheny, Logan Matheny and Timshel Matheny.
