John Park (musician)
John Andrew Park (born September 13, 1988) is a Korean-American singer. He was a semi-finalist on the ninth season of ''American Idol''; placing twentieth. He is the runner-up of ''Superstar K2'', a Korean singing contest held by M.net. He is currently signed to Music Farm Entertainment. Biography Early life John Park was born in Chicago; prior to entering ''Superstar K2'', he was a student at Northwestern University majoring in economics. He was a member of his college a cappella group Purple Haze. He was a semi-finalist on the ninth season of ''American Idol''. He later auditioned for the Korean equivalent of "American Idol", Superstar k2, and finished second. Education Park attended Glenbrook North High School. He is an Economics major at Northwestern University. He is currently taking a break from college to pursue a singing career in Korea. Huh Gak (; born November 15, 1984) is a South Korean singer. He rose to fame after winning the 2010 Mnet talent competition series ''Superstar K 2,'' during which he became known as "the Korean Paul Potts." Early life and education Huh Gak was born in Incheon, South Korea on November 15, 1984. His parents divorced when he was three years old, and he and his twin brother, Huh Gong, were raised by their father. ''Superstar K2'' is a South Korean television show on Mnet. ''Superstar K2'' is season two of the Superstar competition series in which singers audition to get on the show. Each week, the singers perform a song and are eliminated based on the three judges' perception and audience voting. The winner of Superstar K2 received 200 million won ($172,282 USD) and a Samsung QM5 car. This program began on July 23, 2010 and ended October 22, 2010 with the announcement of Huh Gak as the winner and Korean-American John Park as the runner-up.
