John Osborne (writer)
John Osborne (born 15 December 1981) writes books, scripts and stories for Radio 4. He co-created the Sky 1 sitcom '' After Hours''. He is based in Norwich, United Kingdom and studied at the University of East Anglia. He created the sell out Edinburgh show ''John Peel's Shed'' and has written and performed six half hours storytelling shows for Radio 4. He is the author of three non-fiction books. His first, ''Radio Head: Up and Down the Dial of British Radio'', was published by Simon & Schuster in May 2009 and was selected as ''Book of the Week'' on BBC Radio 4. It includes interviews with key people from the history of British radio, including Nicholas Parsons, Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie. The book was reviewed in ''The Daily Telegraph'', and ''Scotland on Sunday''. After Hours (The Velvet Underground Song)
"After Hours" is a 1969 song written by Lou Reed and originally performed by the Velvet Underground. It is the tenth and final track on their self-titled third album. It is one of few songs with lead vocals by drummer Maureen Tucker, as Lou Reed stated the song was "so innocent and pure" that he could not possibly sing it himself. Tucker's vocals are accompanied by acoustic and bass guitar. The style of the lyrics and the music is somewhat reminiscent of Tin Pan Alley songs of the 1930s. Music video In 2014, Universal Music Enterprises held a contest in collaboration with Genero to create an official music video for the song. From 120 submissions, the video by Choking Monkey Productions was picked as the winner and subsequently uploaded to the Velvet Underground Vevo YouTube channel. Latitude Festival
The Latitude Festival is an annual music festival that takes place in Henham Park, near Southwold, Suffolk, England. It was first held in July 2006 and has been held every year since, apart from 2020, when it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, the festival went ahead as part of the government's live event pilot scheme, and was the UK's first full-capacity festival since 2019. The festival presents musicians, bands and artists across four stages - the Obelisk Arena, the BBC Sounds Stage, the Sunrise Arena and the Alcove. The festival also includes theatre, art, comedy, cabaret, poetry, politics, dance and literature. The festival is run by Festival Republic (formerly the Mean Fiddler Group), which also runs the Reading and Leeds festivals. Glastonbury Festival (formally Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts and known colloquially as Glasto) is a five-day festival of contemporary performing arts that takes place in Pilton, Somerset, England. In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other arts. Leading pop and rock artists have headlined, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas. Films and albums have been recorded at the festival, and it receives extensive television and newspaper coverage. The Wellcome Trust is a charitable foundation focused on health research based in London, in the United Kingdom. Future Radio
Future Radio is a local community radio station serving the city of Norwich, Norfolk. The station is part of local charity Future Projects History Future Radio began broadcasting in May 2004 with its first 28-day Restricted Service Licence (RSL). Six such short-term RSLs were broadcast in total, each on the station's former frequency of 105.1 FM. On 6 August 2007 Future Radio launched its full-time permanent service on 96.9 FM, broadcasting from studios on Motum Road, Norwich. The station's first song was '' Once in a Lifetime'' by Talking Heads. The station's programming includes interviews and features, and a range of specialist music programming. Isobel Jane "Isy" Suttie (; born 11 August 1978) is a British musical comedian, actress, and writer. She played Dobby in the British sitcom ''Peep Show'', and in 2013 won the gold Sony Radio Academy Award for her radio show ''Pearl And Dave''. She also provides narration on the UK television show, ''Posh Pawn''. Early life Suttie was born in Hull to an English mother and Scottish father, and brought up in Matlock, Derbyshire. Ann Beach
Ann Beach (7 June 1938 – 9 March 2017) was a British actress. She is perhaps best remembered for her supporting role as Sonia Barrett, the quirky next-door neighbour on the comedy ''Fresh Fields'', starring Julia McKenzie and Anton Rodgers. Career She won a scholarship to RADA at the age of 16. After leaving, she went on tour with Frankie Howerd in ''Hotel Paradiso'', and then came to London in the title role of Emlyn Williams's ''Beth''. This was not a success, but she was soon busily engaged in television work, until she went back to the stage in the Theatre Workshop company at the Theatre Royal Stratford East. Eddie Mair
Eddie Mair (born 12 November 1965) is a Scottish broadcaster who was a presenter on BBC radio and television. He presented his show on LBC between 4pm and 6pm every weekday until his last one, on 18 August 2022, after which he retired from broadcasting. He also hosted BBC Radio 4's daily news magazine '' PM'', the Radio 4 Saturday ''iPM'', and ''NewsPod''. He occasionally presented ''Newsnight'' and ''Any Questions''.
