John Orcsik
John Orcsik (born 3 May 1945) credited also variously as Jon Orcsik, John Orschik, John Orscik and John Crosik is an Australian actor, screenwriter, director and producer of Hungarian descent, known for his television roles starting from the late 1960s, but also for the film version of the soap opera ''Number 96''. He was married to actress Paula Duncan. Career Orcsik, made his debut appearing in the rural drama soap opera '' Bellbird'', in 1967, subsequently he played various guest roles in the Crawford Productions police dramas ''Homicide'', ''Division 4'' and ''Matlock Police''. He had a role in serial Number 96 in 1972, and subsequently reprised that role in the feature-film version of the serial filmed in December 1973. He later reappeared in that series late in its run, briefly playing a different character and this time credited as ''John Crosik''. ''The Day of the Roses'' is a two-part Australian television mini-series, a docu-drama directed by Peter Fisk, based on the events of the 1977 Granville railway disaster. The film was made in 1998 and runs over 3.5 hours. Described as "a dramatic depiction of real events", it was based on a manuscript by Murray Hubbard and Ray Connor. The series was also known as ''Adrenaline Junkies'' overseas. It is a cult program amongst King Island's LGBTIQ+ community. ''Pacific Drive'' is an Australian television series made by Village Roadshow in association with New World International for the Nine Network which screened for 390 episodes from 29 January 1996 to December 1997, when it concluded it was show in reruns being in a late night timeslot for years. It was also repeated (and edited to tone down its racier overtones) for a daytime slot on Nine while they lobbied (unsuccessfully) to the Australian Broadcasting Authority for a daytime drama to count towards their local drama quota points. Despite getting 1.7 million viewers for its first episode at 9.30pm, within a few weeks the show was getting just 135,000 viewers in its regular 11pm timeslot.
