John O'Brien (1932 - 1985) was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives. A Republican, Mr. O'Brien was elected to the Ohio House in November 1980 and took office Jan. 3, 1981. He died in office March 30, 1985, and was succeeded by his widow, Jacquelyn K. O'Brien. Before his election to the Legislature, Mr. O'Brien was a member of the Anderson Township Board of Trustees, a position to which he was first elected in November 1973. In 1980 Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien were leaders in creation of the first Anderson Township Library Committee, which successfully organized community and financial support for a community branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. John O'Brien (Australian Army Officer)
Major General John William Alexander O'Brien, (13 June 1908 – 27 May 1980) was a senior officer in the Australian Army during the Second World War. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for his service as commander of the 2/5th Field Regiment during the Syria–Lebanon Campaign. As Deputy Master General of the Ordnance he was involved in the development of the short 25-pounder and the Owen Gun. After the war he was the Australian supply and defence production representative in Washington, D.C., from 1951 to 1954, and the mayor of Woollahra from 1971 to 1972 and 1975 to 1976. Early life John William Alexander O'Brien was born in Collingwood, Victoria, on 13 June 1908, the only child of Henry Charles O'Brien, a policeman, and his wife Jeanne Doris Kerr. John George O'Brien (10 January 1866 – 15 August 1920) was an Irish first-class cricketer. O'Brien was born at Dublin in January 1866, the son of Timothy O'Brien and Mary O'Dwyer. He was educated at the Catholic Downside School in England. He served in the British Army with the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers, Royal Field Artillery, and the King's Shropshire Light Infantry, reaching the rank of captain. He made one appearance in first-class cricket for Ireland against Scotland at Dublin in 1910 at the age of 43, when he was called up to play as a late replacement for Robert St Leger Fowler. He was dismissed by John Bruce Lockhart for 4 runs in Ireland's first-innings, while in their second-innings he was dismissed by Robert Tait for 3 runs. John Francis Martin O'Brien (born 29 May 1961) is a former English cricketer. O'Brien was a right-handed batsman who bowled slow left-arm orthodox. He was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire. O'Brien made his debut for Cheshire in the 1986 Minor Counties Championship against Dorset. O'Brien played Minor counties cricket for Cheshire from 1986 to 1995, including 71 Minor Counties Championship matches and 18 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. In 1987, he made his List A debut against Glamorgan in the NatWest Trophy. He played seven further List A matches for Cheshire, the last of which came against Essex in the 1995 NatWest Trophy. In his eight List A matches, he scored 61 runs, with a high score of 14 *. With the ball he took 11 wickets at a bowling average of 26.36.
