John Messuri
John Messuri (born August 22, 1966) is an American former professional ice hockey forward. Now, Messuri is head coach of the Arlington High School Spy Ponders in Massachusetts College Messuri played his college hockey at Princeton University, where he was the leading scorer in each of his four seasons and currently is the Princeton Tigers' all-time leading scorer. Professional Messuri spent his first two seasons with the Johnstown Chiefs of the East Coast Hockey League, where he led the team in points in both the 1989-90 season (72 points) and the 1990-91 season (90 points). He also had a brief recall with the Chiefs' AHL affiliate, the Maine Mariners. Despite only playing two seasons and only 116 games with the Chiefs, Messuri's 162 points is the tenth-highest total in Chiefs' history. Johnstown Chiefs
The Johnstown Chiefs were a minor league ice hockey team located in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, that played in the ECHL. The team was founded in 1987 in the All-American Hockey League, and moved to the East Coast Hockey League (now "ECHL") when that league was formed. The Chiefs lasted for 22 years in Johnstown, and was the last of the founding ECHL teams playing under its original name and in its original city. The Chiefs relocated to Greenville, South Carolina, following the completion of the 2010 season. Franchise history The owners originally wanted to name the team the Jets in honor of a team that had played in Johnstown from 1950 to 1977, mostly in the Eastern Hockey League. However, the old Jets' former owners still held the trademark for the name and refused to allow the new team to use it. The 1987–88 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began in October 1987 and concluded with the 1988 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game on April 2, 1988 at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, New York. This was the 41st season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held and is the 94th year overall where an NCAA school fielded a team. John Fletcher (ice Hockey)
John Fletcher is an American former ice hockey goaltender and coach who was an All-American for Clarkson. Career Fletcher was an instant hit for Clarkson, taking over the starting role as a freshman. He recorded 4 shutouts and was named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year. The team in front of him was average at best and finished in the middle of the conference, losing in the first round of the ECAC Tournament, but that didn't stop Fletcher from being drafted by the Vancouver Canucks after the season. Fletcher was just as good the following year and was named an All-American. He backstopped the Golden Knights to an upset win over top-seeded Harvard in the conference semifinals and was named as the top goalie of the tournament. After new head coach Mark Morris arrived in 1988, Fletcher saw his numbers worsen and his time in goal was reduced.
