John McTernan is an Australian actor, known for several theatre and television roles. Biography Early life McTernan's career spans thirty years working in theatre, television and film. He has appeared with all the major theatre companies and began his career training and then performing at the Ensemble Theatre in Sydney. He has appeared in several productions there, most recently ''Wrong Turn at Lungfish'' in 2008. Green Room Awards
The Green Room Awards are peer awards which recognise excellence in cabaret, dance, drama, fringe theatre, musical theatre and opera in Melbourne. The awards were started in 1982 when Blair Edgar and Steven Tandy formed the Green Room Awards Association. The inaugural awards ceremony was held in 1984 at the Melbourne Concert Hall. ''Something in the Air'' is an Australian television soap opera transmitted by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation between 2000 and 2002. It was one of the first programs in Australia that was filmed in widescreen. It won the AACTA Award for Best Television Drama Series in 2001. The series initially screened four episodes weekly, Monday to Thursday at 6:30 pm and received moderate success. Ratings began to drop after the show was moved to Saturday evenings in which it was cut down to two episodes shown in a one-hour block. It later resumed its usual weekly run, however, it was screened in a 6:00 pm timeslot which ultimately led to its cancellation. The series was repeated on the-then ABC2 from 11 February 2008. ''City Homicide'' is an Australian television drama series that aired on the Seven Network between 27 August 2007 and 30 March 2011. The series was set on the Homicide floor of a metropolitan police headquarters in Melbourne. The main characters were six detectives, who solve the murder cases, and their three superior officers. ''City Homicide'' did not return in its regular format in 2011. A six-episode mini-series titled '' No Greater Honour'' was shown instead which marked the closing storyline of the series.
