John Madsen (American Football)
John Christopher Madsen (born May 9, 1983) is a former American football tight end. He was signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He played college football at Utah. He was also member of the Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Locomotives and Detroit Lions. Early years He graduated in 2001 from Hunter High School in West Valley City, Utah having never played football. He played basketball in high school. He played college football for Snow College, his first organized team. Professional career Oakland Raiders Originally a wide receiver, Madsen was converted to tight end in order to make the team. He was the only undrafted free agent to make the Raiders' main 53-man squad in 2006. Madsen was an exclusive-rights free agent in 2008 and re-signed on March 21. He was released by the team on September 20 after tight end Ben Troupe was signed. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. In some systems, the tight end will merely act as a sixth offensive lineman, rarely going out for passes. Snow College
Snow College is a public community college in Ephraim, Utah. It offers certificates and associate degrees in a number of areas, along with bachelor's degrees in music and software engineering and a four-year nursing program. Snow College is part of the Utah System of Higher Education. History Founded in 1888 by local citizens as Sanpete Stake Academy, the school was later renamed Snow Academy to honor Lorenzo Snow and Erastus Snow, distant cousins who were leaders in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The initial school was built entirely with local donations, including “Sunday Eggs” (the proceeds from the sales of all eggs laid on Sunday). The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Seth (The Cannon) Phillip Wand (born August 6, 1979) is a former American football offensive tackle. He was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Northwest Missouri State. Wand also played for the Tennessee Titans and Florida Tuskers. It is rumored that he inspired the look of Mr. Incredible in the popular Pixar movie.
