John Louis Marden
John Louis Marden, Order of the British Empire, CBE, Justice of Peace, JP (12 February 1919 – 18 March 1999) was a British businessman and philanthropist. He was the chairman of the Wheelock & Co, Wheelock Marden. Biography John Louis Marden in February 1919 was born to George Marden, a former Imperial Maritime Customs officer in Canton and Shanghai and chairman of the Wheelock & Co, Wheelock Marden, the Far East conglomerate ranging from property and retailing to insurance and aviation. He was educated in Shanghai and then in England at Gresham's School and the University of Cambridge, graduating in economics and law. After Cambridge, in 1946 Marden joined his father's firm as a trainee in the secretarial and shipping division before he was transferred to the insurance department. In 1952, he became a director of the company. In 1959 he succeeded his father as chairman of Wheelock and Marden, sometimes known as "taipan". Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. Sir David Kennedy Newbigging, OBE, DL (; born 19 January 1934) is a British businessman and Hong Kong politician born in China. He was the Tai-pan of Jardine Matheson & Co, the leading British trading firm in East Asia and unofficial member of the Executive Council and the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. George Marden
George Augustus Marden (August 9, 1839 – December 19, 1906) was an American journalist, attorney and politician who served as Massachusetts Treasurer and as assistant treasurer of the United States for the Boston subtreasury. Biography George A. Marden was born in Mount Vernon, New Hampshire on August 9, 1839. He attended Appleton Academy, and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1861. He worked for the '' Concord Monitor'', and ''The Boston Advertiser''. Marston also was the editor and part owner of the ''Lowell Courier''. Shek O is an area of the south-eastern part of Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong. It can refers to Shek O village or Shek O Peninsula or Shek O Headland.
