John Lieswyn
John Lieswyn (born 18 August 1968 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is a former American professional road bicycle racer. Biography Lieswyn started his road racing career in Florida in 1985, and raced for the University of Florida's Cycling Club (Team Florida). After graduation from college in 1990, he raced three seasons for the US National team in Germany, France and Italy. Lieswyn turned professional in 1993 for Coors Light. He returned to Europe in 1995, scoring numerous top ten results and winning the Delémont (Switzerland) mountain stage of the Regio-Tour. After taking a break in 1996, he focused on the US domestic scene with over 40 major wins. In the pre and post US-season, he competed in South America, Australia and New Zealand, notably taking three stage wins in the Herald Sun Tour (Australia), and overall victory at the Southland Tour (NZ), the Nature Valley Grand Prix in Minnesota, and Tour de Beauce (Canada). International Tour De Toona
The International Tour de Toona was a stage bicycle race held in Central Pennsylvania in July from 1987 until 2011. The event became the largest pro-am cycling event in North America and had stages spanning Blair, Cambria, Bedford, and Somerset Counties in Pennsylvania. The name was changed to The International for the 2002 edition of the race and then to the International Tour de Toona for the 2004 edition. In 2008, tour organizers scaled back the event to a one-day criterium race in downtown Altoona. On May 22, 2009, it was announced that the 2009 Tour de Toona would be canceled due to a lack of sponsorship. The 2003 Tour de Georgia was the inaugural edition of what has now become the highest ranked bicycle road racing event in the United States. The six-stage race was held April 22 through April 27, 2003, with the overall title won by Chris Horner of the Saturn Cycling Team. American Fred Rodriguez () claimed the points jersey for sprinters. Nature Valley Grand Prix
The North Star Grand Prix is a men's and women's road bicycle racing stage race held each June in Minnesota, United States, as part of the North Star Bicycle Festival. An event was added in North Mankato in 2016. The North Star Grand Prix is one of only four races on the USA Cycling Pro Road Tour. The 2010 Grand Prix had six stages: three criteriums, two road races and a time trial. The event was known as the Nature Valley Grand Prix until 2013, but was renamed following sponsorship changes. The North Star Bicycle Festival is run by volunteers, proceeds going to Special Olympics Minnesota. The North Star Grand Prix was cancelled in 2018, which would have been its 20th year. United States National Time Trial Championships
The United States National Time Trial Championships are held annually to decide the American champions in this cycling discipline, across various age and gender categories. Originally, in 1975, the time trial event distance was 25 miles. It later changed to 40 km, and still later changed to the current distance of 32.3 km (20.1 miles). The winners of each event are awarded with a symbolic cycling jersey which is red, white and blue, just like the national flag, these colors can be worn by the rider at other time trialling events in the country to show their status as national champion. The champion's stripes can be combined into a sponsored rider's team kit design for this purpose.
