John Kodwo Amissah
John Kodwo Amissah (November 27, 1922 – September 22, 1991) was a Ghanaian prelate of the Catholic Church who served as Roman_Catholic_Archdiocese_of_Cape_Coast, Archbishop of Cape Coast from 1959 until his death. Born in Elmina, he was Holy Orders, ordained to the Priesthood (Catholic Church), priesthood on December 11, 1949. His thesis at St. Peter's College in Rome was on a comparison between Canon law (Catholic Church), canon law and the native customs of marriage. On March 7, 1957, Amissah was appointed Auxiliary bishop, Auxiliary Bishop of Cape Coast and Titular bishop, Titular Bishop of ''Bencenna'', receiving his Bishop (Catholic Church), episcopal consecration on the following June 16 from Archbishop William Thomas Porter, Society of African Missions, SMA. The Most Reverend
The Most Reverend is a style applied to certain religious figures, primarily within the historic denominations of Christianity, but occasionally in some more modern traditions also. It is a variant of the more common style "The Reverend". A titular bishop in various churches is a bishop who is not in charge of a diocese. By definition, a bishop is an "overseer" of a community of the faithful, so when a priest is ordained a bishop, the tradition of the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox churches is that he be ordained for a specific place. Peter Turkson
Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson is a Ghanaian prelate and cardinal of the Catholic Church who has served as chancellor of the Pontifical Academies of Sciences since 2022. He was president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace from 2009 to 2017 and the inaugural prefect of the Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development from 2017 to 2021.
