John Kiely (baseball)
John Francis Kiely (born October 4, 1964) is an American former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Detroit Tigers from to . Biography A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Kiely attended Brockton High School and Bridgewater State College. In 1987, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk.
