Jack Kershaw
John Karl Kershaw (October 12, 1913 – September 7, 2010) was an American attorney best known for challenging the official account of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968, claiming that his client James Earl Ray was an unwitting participant in a ploy devised by a mystery man named Raul to kill the civil rights leader. Kershaw was also a member of The General Joseph E. Johnston Camp 28 Sons of Confederate Veterans and a Southern secessionist and segregationist who helped found the League of the South. In 1998, Kershaw sculpted a Nathan Bedford Forrest Statue that has drawn wide criticism and mockery by national media. Jack Kershaw (footballer)
Jack Kershaw was an English soccer center forward who began his career in England and ended it in the United States. He was born in Lancashire, England. He played at least two seasons in the Southern New England Soccer League and two in the American Soccer League before coaching professionally and collegiately. Player According to some sources, Kershaw began his career in the English Northern Third Division. At some point, he came to the United States and joined Fore River of the Southern New England Soccer League (SNESL). He scored a goal in Fore River's loss to Ben Millers in the 1920 National Challenge Cup. He suffered a season-ending injury sometime in December 1920 or January 1921. In 1921, the SNESL was disbanded with the creation of the American Soccer League. Fore River did not move to the new league, but Kershaw spent two seasons in the new league, first with J&P Coats in 1921–1922 and then the Fall River F.C. in 1922–1923. John Kershaw (September 12, 1765August 4, 1829) was a U.S. Representative from South Carolina. Born in Camden in the Province of South Carolina, Kershaw attended Rushworth School and Oxford College, England where he studied law. He was the son of Joseph Kershaw, one of the founders of Camden, SC. He married Harriet DuBose in 1812. They were the parents of Major General Joseph Brevard Kershaw, a noted Confederate Army officer. Early years He was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Camden, South Carolina. Kershaw engaged in planting and wheat milling and was a tobacco inspector in 1789. John Kershaw (entomologist)
John Crampton Wilkinson Kershaw (1871 – 26 August 1959) was a British explorer, naturalist and entomologist who explored and collected in South China and Australia. He was among the first entomologists to successfully rear tachinid parasitoids in quantity for use in biological control. Kershaw was born in Boughton, Nottinghamshire, where his father George was a vicar. Like two of his brothers, Bertram and Sidney, he took an interest in entomology from a young age. He was influenced by David Sharp and Edward Poulton. In 1898 he went to Hong Kong and there he met amateur ornithologist Frederick William Styan and became interested in the birds of the Macao region. He helped Frederick A. G. Muir of the Hawaiian Sugar Planters' Association in entomological studies between 1906 and 1907 to locate parasites of sugarcane pests. John Hugh d'Allenger Kershaw (2 August 1931- 2 December 1993) was a British screenwriter and script editor. He edited the entire first season of the television program Bergerac, and contributed to others including The Bill and Armchair Theatre. Biography Kershaw was the only son- there being also a daughter- of Leslie Walter Kershaw (1904-1979), a confectionery shop proprietor of King's Lynn, Norfolk, formerly of Thanet, Kent, and of Lincolnshire (where the Kershaw family were established as blacksmiths), and his first wife Mabel (1908-1969), daughter of Frederick d'Allenger, a soldier who died whilst posted in Malta.
