John Kerry Parameters
The John Kerry Parameters are a declaration of principles that seeks to serve as a framework for a final resolution to the long-standing Israeliā€“Palestinian conflict. They were proposed by US Secretary of State John Kerry on December 28, 2016, following the UN Security Council's approval of Resolution 2334, in which the United States refrained from using its veto. The plan includes the existence of two Israeli and Palestinian states side by side, with Jerusalem as the capital of both countries, an end to the occupation while fulfilling Israel's security needs, and a viable, demilitarized Palestinian state. Background Malaysia, New Zealand, Senegal and Venezuela submitted a draft resolution condemning the settlement construction in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 and calling on Israel to desist from this act and to abide by its responsibilities under the Fourth Geneva Convention. Egypt was the original sponsor of the resolution, but after being under "intense" ...

Israeliā€“Palestinian Conflict
The Israeliā€“Palestinian conflict is one of the world's most enduring conflicts, beginning in the mid-20th century. Various attempts have been made to resolve the conflict as part of the Israeliā€“Palestinian peace process, alongside other efforts to resolve the broader Arabā€“Israeli conflict. Public declarations of claims to a Jewish homeland in Palestine, including the First Zionist Congress of 1897 and the Balfour Declaration of 1917, created early tensions in the region. Following World War I, the Mandate for Palestine included a binding obligation for the "establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people". Tensions grew into open sectarian conflict between Jews and Arabs. The 1947 United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine was never implemented and provoked the 1947ā€“1949 Palestine War. The current Israeli-Palestinian status quo began following Israeli military occupation of the Palestinian territories in the 1967 Six-Day War. Progress was made ...

Trump Peace Plan
The Trump peace plan, officially titled "Peace to Prosperity: A Vision to Improve the Lives of the Palestinian and Israeli People", was a proposal by the Trump administration to resolve the Israeliā€“Palestinian conflict. President Donald Trump formally unveiled the plan in a White House press conference alongside Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu on 28 January 2020. The plan had been delayed by two years and previously rejected by the Palestine (country), Palestinians, who were not invited to the meeting. The plan was authored by a team led by Trump's son-in-law and senior advisor Jared Kushner. Both the West Bank settlers' Yesha Council and the Palestinian leadership rejected the plan, the former because it envisaged a Palestinian state, and the latter arguing that it was too biased in favor of Israel. The plan is divided into two parts, an economic portion and a political portion. On 22 June 2019, the Trump administration released the economic portion of the plan, titl ...

Road Map For Peace
The Roadmap for peace or road map for peace ( he, מפ×Ŗ הד×Øכים ''Mapa had'rakhim'', ''Khāriį¹a į¹arÄ«q as-salāmu'') was a plan to resolve the Israeliā€“Palestinian conflict proposed by the Quartet on the Middle East: the United States, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations. The principles of the plan, originally drafted by U.S. Foreign Service Officer Donald Blome, were first outlined by U.S. President George W. Bush in a speech on 24 June 2002, in which he called for an independent Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in peace. A draft version from the Bush administration was published as early as 14 November 2002. The final text was released on 30 April 2003. The process reached a deadlock early in phase I and the plan was never implemented. Background The Second Intifada, which started in September 2000, was an escalation of mutual violence. In March 2002, in response to a wave of Palestinian suicide attacks, culminating in the "Passover ma ...

The Clinton Parameters
The Clinton Parameters ( he, מ×Ŗווה קלינטון, ''Mitveh Clinton'') were guidelines for a permanent status agreement to resolve the Israeliā€“Palestinian conflict, proposed during the final weeks of the Presidential transition from Bill Clinton to George W. Bush. Following the suspension of the 2000 Camp David Summit in July, negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians took place from 19 to 23 December 2000. The Parameters were the compromises that Clinton believed to be the best possible within the margins of the positions of the two parties. The Clinton Parameters were meant to be the basis for further negotiations. The proposal was presented on 23 December. On 28 December, the Israeli Government formally accepted the plan with reservations. In a meeting in the White House, on 2 January 2001, Yasser Arafat also officially accepted the parameters with reservations. The White House confirmed this the following day in a statement which said that ''"both sides have now ...

Israeliā€“Palestinian Peace Process
The Israeliā€“Palestinian peace process refers to the intermittent discussions held by various parties and proposals put forward in an attempt to resolve the ongoing Israeliā€“Palestinian conflict. Since the 1970s, there has been a parallel effort made to find terms upon which peace can be agreed to in both the Arabā€“Israeli conflict and in the Palestinianā€“Israeli conflict. Some countries have signed peace treaties, such as the Egyptā€“Israel (1979) and Jordanā€“Israel (1994) treaties, whereas some have not yet found a mutual basis to do so. William B. Quandt, in the introduction of his book ''Peace Process'', says: Sometime in the mid-1970s the term peace process became widely used to describe the American-led efforts to bring about a negotiated peace between Israel and its neighbors. The phrase stuck, and ever since it has been synonymous with the gradual, step-by-step approach to resolving one of the world's most difficult conflicts. In the years since 1967 the emphasis ...
