John Kelly (engineer)
John J. Kelly is a senior Irish academic. A professor of chemical engineering, he was for a period dean of the Faculty of Engineering at University College Dublin (UCD, where he was also registrar / deputy president). He was executive director of the Ireland Canada University Foundation, chairman of the Scholarship Board of the O'Reilly Foundation, and president of Independent College Dublin, and is chairman of the board of trustees of the ''Friends of Bethlehem University in Ireland''. Early life John Kelly was born in Newry, Northern Ireland, 11 May 1935, the fourth of seven children of Rita Curran and John Vincent Kelly. He attended two local schools and St. Patrick's College in Armagh. John Richards Kelly
John Richards Kelly (28 February 1844 – 20 July 1922) was a British barrister and Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party politician. He was the second son of Frederic Festus Kelly of Chessington, Surrey and his wife Harriet née Richards. At the time of his birth his father was the Inspector of Letter Carriers for the General Post Office. He was also in charge of producing the ''Post Office Directory'' which he subsequently refounded as a private publication. John attended Eton College and went up to Trinity Hall, Cambridge in 1862 from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, B.A. in 1870. In the same year he began studying law at the Inner Temple and was called to the bar in 1878. He practiced on the South Eastern Circuit. John Kelly (born 2 February 1960) is a former Irish Labour Party politician who has served as a Senator for the Administrative Panel from 2011 to 2016. He was previously a member of Roscommon County Council, having been elected in 2004 as an Independent candidate for the Ballaghaderreen local electoral area. John Edward Kelly (17 June 1840 – 4 November 1896) was an Australian politician. He was born at Swan Reach near Morpeth to settler James Kelly and Mary O'Keefe. He was the storekeeper on the family station, and by the age of eighteen was a head stockman. From 1862 he was a pastoralist in his own right at Bourke. In 1875, he moved to Sydney, where he operated a dairy and sawmill; he also owned a Molong copper mill. On 26 August 1862 he married Margaret Agnes Tierney, with whom he had seven children. John Edmund Kelly (1852 – 1934) was a Canadian politician in Northwest Territories who served as a municipal councillor in Edmonton in the final decade before it became the capital of the newly created province of Alberta. Biography Kelly was born in Glengarry County, Canada West on July 2, 1852. He was trained as a marine and mechanical engineer. He settled in Fort Macleod, North-West Territories (NWT) in 1879, and subsequently built the first sawmill at Pincher Creek. Kelly came to Edmonton, NWT, in 1883. In 1892, he ran for election to Edmonton's first town council as an alderman. He was defeated, placing eleventh of fourteen candidates (the top six were elected). He was successful in his second attempt, in 1895, and was re-elected in 1896, placing sixth of eight candidates. He did not seek re-election in December 1896, and stayed out of politics thereafter. John Kelly (March 23, 1855 − July 18, 1900) was an American politician from New York. Life John was born on March 23, 1855, in New York City, the son of Peter Kelly and Rose McLeone. He was baptized a week later in the Church of St. Joseph in Greenwich Village. His parents were Irish immigrants. The Kelly family moved to Brooklyn, then a separate city from New York City, when John was very young. After graduating from St. Francis Xavier College in Manhattan, he joined his father's building business. They built a number of houses in South Brooklyn. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 - February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. (The other three were Gene Nobles, Herman Grizzard, and Bill "Hoss" Allen.)
