Jack Kelley (ice Hockey)
John Henry Kelley (July 10, 1927 – September 16, 2020) was an American ice hockey coach and a member of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. Kelley was the first general manager and head coach of the New England Whalers of the World Hockey Association (WHA). During the 1972-73 season, he won the Howard Baldwin Trophy as the WHA coach of the year, and also led the Whalers to the Avco World Trophy. He previously served as head coach at Boston University, leading the Terriers to back-to-back NCAA hockey championships in 1971 and 1972. In his 10 year coaching career at Boston U (1962–71), he compiled a .720 winning percentage and won six Beanpot Tournaments. Kelley, who was born in Medford, Massachusetts, also played his college hockey at Boston U, participating in the NCAA Hockey Tournament in 1951 and 1952. John Kelley (ice Hockey)
John "Snooks" Kelley (July 11, 1907 – April 10, 1986) was an American ice hockey coach. Kelley was coach of the Boston College Eagles ice hockey team for 36 years. Kelley won the 1949 NCAA ice hockey title and was the first coach to win 500 games in the NCAA. He was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1974 Career Kelley arrived at Boston College in 1925 after attending Boston College High School. He was a two sport athlete for the Eagles, playing both baseball and ice hockey. Kelley finished his collegiate playing career following his graduation in 1930. Kelley's graduation came just after hockey was removed from as a varsity sport due to the Great Depression. Johnny Kelley
John Adelbert Kelley (September 6, 1907 – October 6, 2004) was an American long-distance runner who twice represented his native country at the Summer Olympics, in 1936 and 1948, and competed in the Boston Marathon over 50 times, winning in 1935 and 1945. He was often dubbed "Kelley the Elder" to avoid confusion with John J. Kelley (1930–2011; "Kelley the Younger"), winner of the 1957 Boston Marathon; the two men were not related. John Joseph Kelley (known as "Red Kelley"; a.k.a. "Irish Red Kelley" and "Jack Kelley") (3 June 1914-10 February 2000) was a reputed mobster who was an associate of the Patriarca crime family. A robber and a hit man, his nicknames in the underworld were "Swiss Watch," due to the methodical way in which he plotted his robberies, and " Saint John," due to his patience. Early Criminal Career Kelley's first arrest took place on May 24, 1954 at the Suffolk Downs Race Track. The police alleged that Kelley had in his possession 16 brand new $1 bills which bore the serial numbers of money stolen from a bank in Belmont nearly two months earlier. John Edward Kelley (March 27, 1853 – August 5, 1941) was a newspaperman and a politician from South Dakota who served one term in the United States House of Representatives. Biography John E. Kelley was born near Portage, Wisconsin on March 27, 1853. He attended the public schools, and as a young man he worked at lumber camps in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Kelley moved to Colman in the Dakota Territory in 1878. He operated a successful farm and timber business, and from 1894 to 1897 was owner and publisher of the ''Flandreau Herald'' newspaper. Originally a Democrat, Kelley was elected to the South Dakota House of Representatives in 1890 and 1891. He joined the Populist Party in 1890, and ran unsuccessfully for the United States House of Representatives in 1892 and 1894. John William Kelley (born March 9, 1963) is an American serial killer and rapist. Following his 2012 arrest for the 1986 rape-murder of a hitchhiker in Ben Lomond, California, Kelley additionally confessed to murdering a couple two years later in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, near Crescent City. For all of his crimes, he received three life imprisonment terms, which he is currently serving at the California Correctional Institution. Sex crimes In September 1986, Kelley was convicted of statutory rape in rural Santa Clara County, for which he spent 90 days in jail and three years of probation. After he was let go, he married and settled in Ben Lomond. Years later, in May 1995, he was arrested for rape again in Eureka.
