John Keeley (pioneer)
John Henry Keeley (born 27 July 1961) is an English former Association football, footballer who played as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. He was most recently the goalkeeping coach at Ipswich Town F.C., Ipswich Town. Playing career Born in Plaistow, Newham, Plaistow, Essex, Keeley began his career at Southend United F.C., Southend United. He made 63 first team appearances between 1979 and 1986. He was signed by Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., Brighton in 1986 and made 138 league appearances in four years with the club, helping the club to promotion to the Football League Second Division, Second Division in 1988. He joined Oldham Athletic A.F.C., Oldham Athletic in 1990, but made only two league appearances, being loaned out to Oxford United F.C., Oxford United, Reading F.C., Reading and Chester City F.C., Chester City in 1991 and 1992. Plaistow ( or ) is a suburban town in East London, England, within the London Borough of Newham. It adjoins Upton Park to the north, East Ham to the east, Beckton to the south, Canning Town to the south-west and West Ham to the west. It was originally a ward in the parish of West Ham, hundred of Becontree, and part of the historic county of Essex. The Football League Second Division was the second level division in the English football league system between 1892 and 1992. Following the foundation of the FA Premier League, the Football League divisions were renumbered and the third tier became known as the Football League Second Division. After the rebranding of the Football League in 2003–04, it became known as Football League One. The Football League Third Division was the third tier of the English football league system in 1920–21 and again from 1958 until 1992. Paul Anthony Cook (born 22 February 1967) is an English professional football manager and former player who is currently manager of side Chesterfield. Cook played as a central midfielder during a playing career that spanned 23 years from 1983 until 2006, notably playing in the Premier League for Coventry City. He also played in the Football League for Wigan Athletic, Norwich City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tranmere Rovers, Stockport County and Burnley. Cook moved into management in 2006 with Southport and later moved on to Irish side Sligo Rovers in 2007.
