John Keane (Gaelic Footballer)
John Keane is a former Gaelic football Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kic ...er who played for the Westmeath county team. He was awarded an All Star for his performances with Westmeath in 2008. This was his second All Star, also winning an award in 2004. He was part of the Weastmeath team that won the county's first Leinster Senior Football Championship in 2004. Jack Cooney appointed Keane to his Westmeath senior management team ahead of the 2022 season, with Keane also having been included in Cooney's proposed backroom team in 2014 when Cooney did not secure the post. Athlone

The Westmeath county football team represents Westmeath in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Westmeath GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). The Leinster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Leinster Championship and shortened to Leinster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county Gaelic football competition in the province of Leinster, and has been contested every year since the 1888 championship. Jack Cooney
Jack Cooney (born 1971) is a Gaelic football Manager (Gaelic games), manager and former player for the Westmeath county football team, Westmeath county team. He was manager of the Westmeath county team between 2018 and 2022. Playing career Cooney began playing for Westmeath when he was 17 years of age, which was in 1988, and after playing became involved as a selector, including with the Páidí Ó Sé-led 2004 Leinster Senior Football Championship Final-winning team.
