John Joe Landers
John Joseph Landers (23 April 1907 – 27 August 2001) was an Irish Gaelic footballer, Gaelic games administrator and republican activist. His league and championship career at senior level for the Kerry county team spanned twelve years from 1927 to 1938. Landers has been described as "one of erry' greatest football legends". Raised in Tralee, County Kerry, Landers was one of six children born to the former Catherine Roche and Garrett Landers. He was educated locally and first played competitive hurling and Gaelic football with the combined Tralee district team with whom he won a combined total of five county senior championship medals in both codes between 1925 and 1927. With the newly created Rock Street club he won a further three county hurling championship medals, while with the Austin Stacks club Landers won five more county football championship medals. Tralee GAA
Tralee District is a Gaelic Athletic Association Divisional Team from Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. They won Kerry Senior Football Championship three times in a row in 1925, 1926, and 1927. They also won the Kerry Senior Hurling Championship in 1927. The district now only competes at under 14 and under 16 level. The side can select players who represent Austin Stacks, Kerins O'Rahillys and John Mitchels, the other Tralee clubs represent St. Brendan's divisional team. Kerry Senior Football Championship
The Kerry Senior Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as Garvey’s SuperValu Senior Football Championship) is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1889 for the top Gaelic football teams in the county of Kerry in Ireland. The series of games are played during the summer and autumn months, with the county final currently being played in either Austin Stack Park or FitzGerald Stadium in October. Initially played as a knock-out competition, the championship currently uses a double elimination format whereby each team is guaranteed at least two games. The Kerry County Championship is an integral part of the wider Munster Senior Club Football Championship. Armagh GAA
The Armagh County Board ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae Ard Mhacha) or Armagh GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Alf Murray
Alf Murray (25 December 1915 – 12 March 1999) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a right wing-forward at senior level for the Armagh county team. Murray joined the team during the 1935 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen for the next decade. He failed to win any silverware at senior level, however, he did win an Ulster medal at junior level in 1935. Murray had a lengthy club career with Clann Éireann. In retirement from playing Murray was involved in the administration of the GAA. He was secretary of the Armagh County Board and chairman of the Ulster Council, before serving as president of the GAA from 1964 to 1967. John Dunne (Gaelic Footballer)
John "Tull" Dunne (26 December 1911 – 12 May 1990) was an Irish Gaelic football coach, player, referee and Gaelic games administrator. His football championship career at senior level with the Galway county team lasted ten seasons from 1932 until 1941. Born in Brackernagh, Ballinasloe, County Galway, Dunne was the second child and eldest son born to William and Katie Dunne (née Donelan). The son of a carpenter, he was educated locally before finding employment in the local post office. Dunne first played competitive Gaelic football with the St Grellan's club. He first played for the senior team at the age of seventeen, winning a county senior championship medal in his debut season in 1929. Dunne won three more county senior championship medals. The Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or Kerry GAA, is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland. The GAA Interprovincial Championship ( ga, An Corn Idir-Chúigeach) or Railway Cup (''Corn an Iarnróid'') is the name of two annual Gaelic football and hurling competitions held between the provinces of Ireland. The Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster GAA teams are composed of the best players from the counties in each province. The games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Railway Cup was a revival of the Railway Shield which ran from 1905 to 1907 (football) and from 1905 to 1908 (hurling).
