John Jagger (MP)
John Jagger (1 October 1872 – 9 July 1942) was a British trade unionist and Labour Party politician. After a career in business and trade union leadership, he won a seat in the House of Commons in 1935, and held it until his death in a road accident. Career Jagger spent the early part of his career in business, and travelled for four years as a business manager in India, China and Burma. He then became a departmental manager in co-operative stores. He was chairman of the York Trades and Labour Council, and became president of the Amalgamated Union of Co-operative Employees, of which he was the chief founder. In 1921 he became general president of the National Union of Distributive and Allied Workers, and held that post until he entered Parliament in 1935. At the 1935 general election, he was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manchester Clayton, defeating the Conservative MP William Flanagan. John Jagger (ice Hockey)
John Jagger is a Canadian retired ice hockey defenseman who was the first List of Division I AHCA All-American Teams, All-American for Wisconsin Badgers men's ice hockey, Wisconsin. Career Jagger was recruited to Wisconsin after winning the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, NOJHL championship in 1967. After a year with the freshman team, Jagger joined the varsity club in 1968 and helped the team to a 22-win season. Jagger led the team's defense with 39 points and was a rising star for the Badgers as the team transitioned into the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, WCHA. In the team's first season of conference play, Jagger's point total dropped significantly, declining to just 16, but he was instrumental in leading Wisconsin to a 4th-place finish in the conference and was named as the program's first All-American in 1970.
