John Heskett
John Heskett (26 May 1937 – 25 February 2014) was a British writer and lecturer on the economic, political, cultural and human value of industrial design. Heskett taught primary in the fields of design history and design thinking, and was a professor at the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology (1989–2004) and the School of Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2004–11), where he became the acting dean (2011–12). He was also a visiting professor at various universities in Turkey, Japan, Chile, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland. Between the late 1970s and 2010, he published ''Industrial Design'' and ''Toothpicks and Logos: Design in Everyday Life'', and several other books. Coventry
Coventry ( or ) is a City status in the United Kingdom, city in the West Midlands (county), West Midlands, England. It is on the River Sherbourne. Coventry has been a large settlement for centuries, although it was not founded and given its city status until the Middle Ages. The city is governed by Coventry City Council. Michael Young (industrial Designer)
Michael Young (born 23 August 1966) is a British industrial designer and creative director based in Hong Kong. He works in the areas of product, furniture and interior design with studios in Hong Kong and Brussels. He is known for unconventional use of materials and manufacturing processes, and collaborations with brands such as KEF, Coalesse and MOKE International. He is interested in "how disruption in society always has a design response, because it usually creates a need for things that perform." Life and career Young was born in Sunderland, England. The Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID) is a postgraduate school and consultancy based in Copenhagen, Denmark and San Jose, Costa Rica, which focuses on the domain of interaction design.
