John Hall (footballer, Born 1944)
John Franklin Hall (born 18 April 1944) is an English former professional footballer who is third in the list of Bradford City's players by appearance, after playing 430 games for the club. He was a right winger. Career Hall spent one season at Huddersfield Town before moving across West Yorkshire to join Bradford City on amateur forms in May 1961. A year later he became a full-time professional at Valley Parade. Over the next 13 years, he played 430 league games, 21 FA Cup games and 23 League Cup appearances for City as a right winger. Only Ces Podd and Ian Cooper have played more times for Bradford City. He made his name as a goal-scorer. He was the club's top scorer in 1966–1967 and many of his goals came towards the start or end of either half. He scored 63 league goals and 9 cup goals for City. Bramley, Leeds
Bramley is a district in west Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is part of the City of Leeds Ward of Bramley and Stanningley with a population of 21,334 at the 2011 Census. The area is an old industrial area with much 19th century architecture and 20th century council housing in the east and private suburban housing in the west. Etymology The name of Bramley is first attested in the 1086 Domesday Book as ''Brameleia'' and ''Bramelei''. The name derives from the Old English words ''brōm'' ('broom') and ''lēah'' ('open land in a wood'). Thus the name once meant 'open land characterised by broom'. Ian Cooper (born 21 September 1946) is an English retired footballer who played professionally for Bradford City between 1965 and 1977, making nearly 450 appearances for the club. Cyril Casey Marcel Podd (born 7 August 1952) is a former professional footballer who played as a right-back. An international for Saint Kitts and Nevis he spent his professional career in England. He was one of the first black players to establish themselves in English football. Club career A student at the Bradford College of Art, Podd made his professional debut in September 1970 for Bradford City. Over the next 14 years Podd made a total of 565 appearances for City in all competitions - a club record. He signed for Halifax Town in August 1984, and later played with Scarborough – with whom he secured promotion to the Football League – and Ossett Town. In certain sports, such as football, field hockey, ice hockey, handball, rugby union, lacrosse and rugby league, winger is a position. It refers to positions on the extreme left (factually the better side) and right sides of the pitch, or playing field (the "wings"). In American football and Canadian football, the analogous position is the wide receiver. Wingers often try to use pace to exploit extra space available on the flanks that can be made available by their teammates dominating the centre ground. They must be wary however of not crossing the touchline, or sidelines, and going out of play.
