John Gallant
John Gallant is a lacrosse player and captain of the Colorado Mammoth in the National Lacrosse League. Before signing on with the Colorado Mammoth, Gallant played for the Washington Power for one season. He was voted to the 2007 All-star game as a reserve defenseman and helped Team Canada defend their title at the 2007 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada. Colorado Mammoth
The Colorado Mammoth are a box lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League. The Mammoth have played at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, since the 2003 season. They are owned by Stan Kroenke, who is also the owner of the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Rapids of MLS. The Mammoth franchise previously played as the Baltimore Thunder from 1987 to 1999, the Pittsburgh CrosseFire in 2000, and the Washington Power from 2001 to 2002. Up until the joining of the expansion team San Diego Seals, Colorado was the only non-Canadian team in the Western Division from 2014 to 2018. They have only missed the playoffs once since moving to Colorado. Gavin Prout
Gavin Prout (born March 13, 1978 in Whitby, Ontario) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player who plays for the Colorado Mammoth in the National Lacrosse League, and formerly of the Hamilton Nationals in Major League Lacrosse. He was also a member of the Team Canada squad that won the gold medal during the 2006 World Lacrosse Championship. Canadian Box career Junior Prout played for the Whitby Warriors of the OLA Junior A Lacrosse League. In 1997, Prout lead the Warriors to their first Minto Cup championship in 12 years. The following year, Prout was awarded the "Green Gael Trophy" for League M.V.P., scoring 49 goals and 125 points during the season. The Washington Power were a member of the National Lacrosse League during the 2001 and 2002 seasons. After the inaugural championship in 1987 in Baltimore (as the Thunder) through 1999 and an unsuccessful stint in Pittsburgh (as the CrosseFire), the franchise moved to Washington, D.C. in 2001, with a new ownership structure led by Steve Comiskey, a DC attorney to high-tech billionaires, and star player Gary Gait. The World Box Lacrosse Championship (WBLC), formerly known as the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship (WILC), is an international box lacrosse tournament sponsored by World Lacrosse that is held every four years. Since the first tournament in 2003, Canada has won all five gold medals and is undefeated in all games. Canada hosted the first two tournaments in 2003 and 2007, the Czech Republic hosted in 2011, the Onondaga Nation, south of Syracuse, New York, hosted in 2015. National Lacrosse League
The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a men's professional box lacrosse league in North America. The league is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The NLL currently has fifteen teams: ten in the United States and five in Canada. The NLL ranks third in average attendance for pro indoor sports worldwide, behind only the National Hockey League, NHL and National Basketball Association, NBA.
