John Fry (regicide)
John Fry (1609–1657) was a Member of the English Parliament and sat as a Commissioner (Judge) during the trial of King Charles I of England. Biography John Fry, son of William Fry of Iwerne Minster, was born in 1609. He was Member of Parliament for Shaftesbury in the Long and Rump Parliaments, sat through most of the trial of King Charles I, but did not take part in the sentencing, having been suspended from membership of the House of Commons and debarred from sitting on the High Court for heterodoxy on 26 January 1649, one day before the sentence was pronounced. The suspicion raised by Colonel Downes was that Fry did not believe in the doctrine of the Trinity. Eight days later Fry declared in a written statement that he respected the Trinity and was readmitted to the House. Shortly afterwards Fry published a pamphlet against Downes, ''The Accuser Shamed'', in which he expressed opinions far from orthodox. John Fry (record Producer)
John Edward Fry (December 31, 1944 – December 18, 2014) was the founder of Ardent Records in Memphis, Tennessee, which includes Ardent Studios; two record labels, Ardent Records (Christian label) and Ardent Music (mainstream label); and a production company, Ardent Film Department. The business was founded in 1959. It moved into commercial spaces at 1457 National Street in 1966. Music career Fry engineered and produced an eclectic array of records. , Ardent Studios had recorded over 70 gold and platinum albums and singles, many for Stax Records. He was best known for his work on the first three Big Star albums and as the band's mentor. Fry's Electronics was an American big-box store chain. While operating, it was headquartered in San Jose, California in Silicon Valley. Fry's retailed software, consumer electronics, household appliances, cosmetics, tools, toys, accessories, magazines, technical books, snack foods, electronic components and computer hardware. Fry's had in-store computer repair and custom computer building services. Fry's began with one store in Sunnyvale, California and expanded to 34 stores in nine states at its peak in 2019. John Arthur William Fry (born 13 November 1961) is a former English cricketer. Fry was a right-handed batsman. He was born in Streatham, London. Fry represented the Surrey Cricket Board in List A cricket. His debut List A match came against Norfolk in the 1999 NatWest Trophy. From 1999 to 2002, he represented the Board in 4 List A matches, the last of which came against the Essex Cricket Board in the 2nd round of the 2003 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy which was held in 2002. John Wesley Fry (December 5, 1876 – December 23, 1946) was a politician in Alberta, Canada and a mayor of Edmonton. Biography Early life John Fry was born in Woodstock, Ontario on December 5, 1876. He grew up in Woodstock and Owen Sound and moved to Regina, Saskatchewan in 1897 to attend Normal School. He received his teaching certificate and taught for three years in Gainsborough, Saskatchewan. He married and moved to a homestead near Lloydminster. In 1911, he moved to Edmonton and entered the contracting and real estate business. Political career John Wesley Fry sought office eleven times in his political career, and was never defeated. John Fry (January 22, 1930 – January 24, 2020) invented the Nations Cup of alpine ski racing by which the relative strengths of the world's national ski teams are ranked annually. Fry created Nastar (National Standard Ski Race), a system for recreational skiers to experience the thrill of racing, in use at more than a hundred U.S. ski areas. He worked as a journalist and as chief editor of large-circulation magazines devoted to skiing, golf, and outdoor recreation and travel.
