John Fleming (bishop)
John Fleming (born 16 February 1948) is an Irish people, Irish Catholic Church, Roman Catholic clergyman who has been the Bishop of Killala since 2002. Born in Ardpatrick, County Limerick, Ardpatrick, County Limerick, Ireland on 16 February 1948, educated at St Munchin's College (1960-1965) he went on to study at St Patrick's College, Maynooth and The Irish College, Rome, he was Holy Orders, ordained a Priesthood (Catholic Church), priest for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Limerick, Diocese of Limerick on 18 June 1972. Fleming undertook postgraduate studies in Canon Law at the Gregorian University, Rome qualifying with a Licentiate in 1981. He returned to Rome to study for his Doctorate in Canon Law, and was appointed Vice Rector of the Pontifical Irish College, Irish College in 1986, and Rector in 1993. killaladiocese.org; accessed 31 January 2018. The Most Reverend
The Most Reverend is a style applied to certain religious figures, primarily within the historic denominations of Christianity, but occasionally in some more modern traditions also. It is a variant of the more common style "The Reverend". Anglican In the Anglican Communion, the style is applied to archbishops (including those who, for historical reasons, bear an alternative title, such as presiding bishop), rather than the style "The Right Reverend" which is used by other bishops. "The Most Reverend" is used by both primates (the senior archbishop of each independent national or regional church) and metropolitan archbishops (as metropolitan of an ecclesiastical province within a national or regional church). Retired archbishops usually revert to being styled "The Right Reverend", although they may be appointed "archbishop emeritus" by their province on retirement, in which case they retain the title "archbishop" and the style "The Most Reverend", as a courtesy.
