The JFWTC is General Electric General Electric Company (GE) is an American multinational conglomerate founded in 1892, and incorporated in New York state and headquartered in Boston. The company operated in sectors including healthcare, aviation, power, renewable en ...'s (GE) first and largest integrated, multidisciplinary research and development center outside the US. The center is also known as Bangalore Engineering Center or BEC. The team has more than 5,000 engineers and scientists working at the JFWTC Bangalore. It was founded by former CEO of GE John F. Whitefield, Bangalore
Whitefield is a neighbourhood of Bangalore in the state of Karnataka, India. Established in the late 1800s as a settlement for the Eurasians and Anglo Indians of Bangalore, Whitefield remained a quaint little settlement at the eastern periphery of Bangalore city till the late 1990s when the local IT boom turned it into a major suburb.
