John Douglass (bishop)
John Douglass (December 1743–8 May 1812) was an English Roman Catholic bishop who was the Vicar Apostolic of the London District from 1790 until his death in 1812. Life The son of John Douglass and Brigit Senson or Semson, he was born at Yarm , Yorkshire, in December 1743, and at the age of thirteen he was sent to the English College, Douai. There he took the college oath in 1764. He went to the English College in Valladolid, as professor of humanities, arriving there 27 June 1768. At a later period he taught philosophy. Suffering from poor health, he left Valladolid on 30 July 1773, and was priest of the mission of Linton and afterwards at York. John Thomas Douglass
John Thomas Douglass (1847–1886) was an American composer, virtuoso violinist, conductor and teacher. He is best known for composing '' Virginia's Ball'' (1868), which is generally regarded as the first opera written by a Black American composer. The work is now lost, and his only extant composition is ''The Pilgrim: Grand Overture'' (1878) for piano. His biography from James Monroe Trotter's ''Music and Some Highly Musical People'' (1878)—in which ''The Pilgrim'' survives—reports that he wrote many now lost pieces for piano, orchestra and particularly guitar, which he was known to play. A highly regarded violinist, Douglass's violin playing received high praise during his lifetime. In addition to his solo career, he traveled with various groups throughout the 1870s, including the Hyers Sisters. John Watkinson Douglass (1827–1909), was an American politician who served as the 6th president of the Board of Commissioners of the District of Columbia from 1889 to 1893 and as the 7th Commissioner of Internal Revenue from 1871 to 1875. His YouTube channel initially consisted of infomercial parodies, sketches, and comedic music videos. Personal and early life Douglass was born in Columbia, Maryland, on June 30, 1988, and is primarily of Irish ancestry. He has two older sisters. During high school he started to develop a love for music, and he learned to play the French horn and the piano. In May 2006, during his senior year of high school, he created short video sketches for a school assignment, leading him to decide to create films. The next month, he started using YouTube and uploading videos. After graduating from high school, Douglass attended American University, where he majored in film and minored in music theory.
