John D. Hershey
Johnathan D. Hershey is an American politician who served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 82nd district. First elected in November 2018, he assumed office on December 1, 2018. In 2022, Hershey was redistricted into the 86th district, where he then lost in the primary to Perry Stambaugh. Early life and education Born in Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, Hershey graduated from Juniata High School in 2011. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and international relations from Messiah University in 2015. Career Hershey began his career working for a non-profit organization in East Africa. Perry, also known as pear cider, is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented pears, traditionally the perry pear. It has been common for centuries in England, particularly in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, and Worcestershire. Charlie Dent
Charles Wieder Dent (born May 24, 1960) is an American politician who served as a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives for from 2005 to 2018. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Dent worked in a variety of occupations after graduating from Pennsylvania State University. He earned a master's degree in public administration from Lehigh University and served as an aide to Congressman Donald L. Ritter. From 1991 to 2004, he served in the Pennsylvania General Assembly. In 2004, Dent won election to the United States House of Representatives, succeeding Pat Toomey. In the House, Dent became a member of the centrist Republican Main Street Partnership and the Tuesday Group. He became co-chair of the Tuesday Group in 2007. He served on the House Committee on Appropriations, and previously chaired the House Ethics Committee. Juniata High School is a small, rural, public high school which is one of two high schools operated by the Juniata County School District. The students reside in the central and western portions of Juniata County in central Pennsylvania. Messiah University is a private interdenominational evangelical Christian university in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. History The school was founded as Messiah Bible School and Missionary Training Home in 1909 by the Brethren in Christ Church. Originally located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in the home of Messiah's first president, Samuel Rogers (S.R.)
