John Chisum (baseball)
John "Big" Chisum (April 5, 1915 – August 5, 1982), also listed as John Chism, was an Americans, American baseball third baseman in the Negro League baseball, Negro leagues. He played with the St. Louis Stars (1937), St. Louis Stars in 1937. His brother, Eli Chism, Eli, also played in the Negro leagues. and his statistics are combined with John's in some sources. A third baseman, abbreviated 3B, is the player in baseball or softball whose responsibility is to defend the area nearest to third base — the third of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run.
