John Chetwynd, 2nd Viscount Chetwynd
John Chetwynd, 2nd Viscount Chetwynd (c.1680 – 21 June 1767) was a British diplomat and politician who sat in the British House of Commons, House of Commons between 1715 and 1747. Chetwynd was the second son of John Chetwynd of Ingestre and his wife Lucy Roane, daughter of Robert Roane of Tolhurst Farm, Surrey. In 1699 he was secretary to the Duke of Manchester at Paris until 1701. He was receiver general for the Duchy of Lancaster from 1702 to 1718. He was secretary at Turin from 1703 to 1706 when he became List of diplomats from the United Kingdom to Sardinia, British envoy to Savoy until 1713. Chetwynd was appointed a Lord of Trade in 1714 and was returned unopposed as Member of Parliament for St Mawes (UK Parliament constituency), St Mawes at the 1715 British general election, 1715 general election. British House Of Commons
The House of Commons is the lower house of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Like the upper house, the House of Lords, it meets in the Palace of Westminster in London, England. Stafford is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Theodora Clarke, a Conservative. Sir Humphrey Monoux, 4th Baronet
Sir Humphrey Monoux, 4th Baronet (c. 1702–1757) of Wootton House, Bedfordshire, was a British landowner and Tory politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1728 to 1741 Monoux was the only son of Sir Philip Monoux, 3rd Baronet, MP, and his wife Dorothy Harvey, daughter of William Harvey of Chigwell, Essex. He succeeded his father to the baronetcy on 25 November 1707. He matriculated at Trinity College, Oxford on 19 February 1720, aged 17 and was created MA on 3 May 1723. At the 1727 British general election. Monoux stood as a Tory in a contest for Bedfordshire, and was defeated. Martin Bladen
Colonel Martin Bladen (1680–1746) was a British politician who sat in the Irish House of Commons from 1713 to 1727 and in the British House of Commons from 1715 to 1746. He was a Commissioner of the Board of Trade and Plantations, a Privy Councillor in Ireland and Comptroller of the Mint. Family Martin was born in 1680 in Yorkshire and was the son of Nathaniel Bladen and Isabella Fairfax. His father was an attorney and Steward to Thomas Osborne, 1st Duke of Leeds (Lord Danby), his mother was the daughter of Sir William Fairfax of Steeton and was related to Lord Fairfax. Martin's older brother William Bladen was Attorney-General in Maryland and briefly Secretary of that Province and his nephew Thomas Bladen was Governor of Maryland in the 1740s. Thomas Brodrick (1654–1730)
Thomas Brodrick (4 August 1654 – 3 October 1730) was an Irish and British politician who sat in the Irish House of Commons between 1692 and 1727 and also in the British House of Commons from 1713 to 1727. He owned lands in both Surrey in England, and County Cork, Ireland. Life Brodrick was the eldest son of Sir St John Brodrick of Ballyannan, Midleton, County Cork and his wife Alice Clayton, daughter of Laurence Clayton of Mallow, County Cork. He was admitted at Trinity Hall, Cambridge and also at Middle Temple in 1670. He received an LLB in 1677. He inherited lands at Wandsworth in 1680, and received a settlement of some of the family's Irish lands upon marrying. Brodrick sat in the Irish House of Commons for Midleton from 1692 to 1693, for County Cork from 1695 to 1699 and again from 1703 to 1713, and for Midleton again from 1715 to 1727. Lieutenant Colonel Sidney Godolphin (1652–1732) was an English soldier, politician and Member of Parliament for various seats between 1685 and 1732, becoming Father of the House in 1730. Edward Rolt (c. 1686–1722) of Sacombe Park, Hertfordshire, Harrowby Hall, Lincolnshire and Spye Park, near Chippenham, Wiltshire, was a British landowner and Tory politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1713 to 1722. Rolt was the only son of Sir Thomas Rolt of Sacombe and Harrowby and his wife Mary Cox, daughter of Dr Thomas Coxe of Christ Church, London, physician in ordinary to Charles II. Rolt's father was in the service of the East India Company at Surat, and became chief in Persia and president of Surat before he returned to England in 1682 with a large fortune and purchased Sacombe Park. Rolt matriculated at Merton College, Oxford on 7 November 1701, aged 15 and was admitted at Lincoln's Inn on 14 October 1702. William Richard Chetwynd, 3rd Viscount Chetwynd (1684 – 3 April 1770) was a British politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1715 to 1770. Early life Chetwynd was the youngest son of John Chetwynd (1643–1702) and thus younger brother of Walter Chetwynd, 1st Viscount Chetwynd and John Chetwynd, 2nd Viscount Chetwynd. He was educated at Westminster School (c.1698–1702) and Christ Church, Oxford. In 1706, he became secretary to his elder brother John on his appointment as British envoy to Savoy at Turin, and in 1708 became British Resident at Genoa. During the financial crisis precipitated by the War of the Spanish Succession, the Chetwynd brothers drew on their commercial credit to provide General James Stanhope with the funds he needed to pay the British troops in Spain.
